Job Summary
We’re looking for someone who can help us make smarter decisions and run our business better. As a Senior Business Analyst, you’ll be involved in almost all elements of our business – with a primary focus on product analytics – as you help shape our strategy, help us answer key business questions with data, and provide leaders with tools to improve their teams’ performance. Our Business Intelligence team’s goal is to use data to improve the overall business. We aren’t looking to “get all the data”, or throw data against the wall to see what sticks; instead, we believe in thoughtful approaches to which questions we’ll ask, which projects to invest in, and how we prioritize our work. If being an owner in a fast-paced environment where we focus not just on valuable outputs but on valuable outcomes interests you, we invite you to apply to join the Networx team!
What you’ll do:
- Developing scalable, automated dashboards to enable or improve reporting against goals. That includes data connection, ETL, data validation, and data visualization
- Answering complex business questions by asking thoughtful questions of your own, querying databases, analyzing data, and communicating conclusions from your analyses to various stakeholders
- Find insights into our current state that we can leverage for growth opportunities and operational efficiency gains.
- Collaborate with our product and development teams to define and document requirements and provide support throughout the execution process
- Supervising and reporting on tests to ensure they are implemented and measured correctly
Requirements
What you’ll need:
- Technical competence to autonomously build out a powerful analytics suite: deep experience with analytics and data design as well as with visualization tools
- Experience with architectures for producing data analytics deliverables, including embedded reporting, ad hoc reporting, and advanced analytics
- Excellent SQL skills (examples: window functions, stored procedures, subqueries, debugging)
- 3-6 years as a product analyst, business intelligence analyst, or related field
- Exceptional problem-solving skills, including interviewing business users, analyzing data, statistical analysis, developing hypotheses, and synthesizing recommendations
- Have the ability to work independently and interdependently. You will own some projects entirely and will work in tandem with our team on other projects
- The desire to “get your hands dirty” in the intricacies of defining KPIs and events; querying, transforming, visualizing, and communicating data
- You must be able to commute to New York, NY or Atlanta, GA metropolitan area for in-office collaboration when necessary
Nice to have:
- An undergraduate degree (a Master’s degree is even better) in a quantitative field (computer science, statistics, economics, quantitative finance, etc.)
- Experience with product or market analytics.
- Experience with Python and R
- Extensive experience building analytical and reporting dashboards using data visualization platforms such as Tableau, Power BI, Mixpanel, or Domo
- Advanced competency in statistics
Benefits
What you’ll earn:
- Health Care Plan (Medical, Dental & Vision)
- FSA and HSA
- Retirement Plan (401k) with a 4% match
- Life Insurance (Basic, Voluntary & AD&D)
- Paid Time Off (Vacation, Bereavement & Paid Holidays)
- Short-Term & Long-Term Disability
