Job Description
The Senior Business Product Manager ensures STCU offers competitive, profitable, and innovative products designed to meet member needs and advance the credit union’s strategic goals. This role assists in the development of a robust product governance program for all STCU products and services, is responsible for the management of assigned products, and supports the team delivery of high-quality product documentation including recommendations, reviews, and organizational readiness.
Core Job Requirements/Outcomes:
- Lead and manage the complete product lifecycle for assigned products by thoroughly completing product recommendations, product reviews as well as technical readiness, and organizational readiness assessments, and by providing ongoing management of assigned products including product performance, profitability, compliance, audit management, change management, and product communication.
- Build cooperative partnerships across STCU by delivering high level results with minimal friction and maintaining strong working relationships with business lines, front line, and back office departments.
- Support merger and acquisitions activities by completing product gapping, data mapping, product awareness training, and other assigned activities.
- Take the lead in assigned key product management processes by reviewing the annual fee review process, product management site content, ongoing product and process spotlights, fact sheets management, and audit / exam participation.
Other Essential Functions:
- Vendor management tasks may be assigned with vendors and third parties for products, services, contract review, and enhancements. Responsible for following internal vendor management processes, assessing operational risks, evaluating vendor contracts, completing due diligence, and negotiating contracts within authority. Schedules and coordinates vendor demonstrations, communications, and upgrades, as needed.
- Compare vendor product and service offerings to highlight capabilities, implementation/ongoing cost, implementation/enhancement benefits, revenue and ROI estimates, transition timeline, risk and resource estimates as assigned.
- Stay informed on trends, best practices or other strategically valuable issues that impact consumer or commercial products and the department.
- Actively support project management with the delivery of product related projects. This includes the development of scope, task delivery, issue management, adherence to timelines and budgets, and assures organizational readiness best practices are followed.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Management or equivalent experience in a related field required.
Certifications: Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP), Project Management Professional (PMP), Product Management, Treasury Professional credential, or industry related certification is preferred.
Job Experience: Minimum of five years’ experience in product management, digital channel management, payments systems, or commercial deposit or digital applications. Must have proven abilities in partner management, accomplishing projects with little to no supervision both within a team atmosphere and independently, time management, breaking down larger work efforts, problem solving, prioritizing complex and interrelated priorities, and delivering strong written and spoken communications.
Software Skills: Proficient knowledge of SharePoint, and Visio. Proficient knowledge of MS Office programs including Outlook, Word, Excel and Teams.
Physical Demands: Must be able to regularly talk, hear and operate a computer, keyboard and mouse and occasionally lift, pull/push and carry up to 10 pounds with accommodations.
Work Conditions: Exposure to constant or intermittent sounds at a low or moderate level consistent with an office setting. Exposure to high-stress, fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
Travel Demands: Work from home or office as needed. Occasional travel required for vendor management, industry conferences, or during merger and acquisition activities.
