JOB DETAILS
Base pay starts at $22.00 per hour
Shift: Full-Time, second shift 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Possesses a valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License to transfer product between company warehouses. Ensures inventory control through correct placement of product within the warehouses. Ensures safety of people and materials in all locations by following Company guidelines on safe driving, operation of motorized equipment, lifting, and stacking. Performs all functions in accordance with safety policies and procedures to maintain a quality product during transit and storage.
- Maintain safe work practices and equipment per training and OSHA guidelines with emphasis on technique, motorized equipment, and safe operation of tools. Work toward 100% participation in safety team meetings for OSHA training and get involved with the WSP program to promote a safer work environment. Continue to work toward better housekeeping in the warehouse and get involved in the 5S program while sustaining already certified areas
- Operate motorized equipment responsibly and safely at all times
- Obey all local, state, federal, and DOT regulations related to your CDL licensing. Report any off-duty violations using Violation Report Form
- Be proficient and efficient operating a tractor and trailer
- Shuttling product between warehouses
- Backing in trailers
- Ensuring load is stable before transporting
- Maintain and monitor trailers for the loading schedule
- Maintain trailer lots and docks in an orderly manner
- Truck Drivers must also meet Warehouse Job Expectations
- Assist in warehouse when driving duties are fulfilled
- Work in the mandatory overtime rotation with the warehouse
- Fill in for other drivers off first. If none off, you will work in the warehouse
- Complete all paperwork accurately and timely including safety check sheets
- Plan your work and be flexible with breaks and lunchtimes. Observe the company break policy
- Be a team player in all areas seeking facility excellence instead of personal or shift excellence. Get involved with team activities where applicable
- Strive for continuous improvement of job knowledge for individual growth, while sharing that knowledge to benefit others
- Follow the Basic Principles
- Perform other related duties and assignments as required
- Attend scheduled staff meetings with the Distribution Supervisor, if required
- Perform basic duties of Warehouse Associate 3 at times, based upon ability and experience
- Maintain an accurate time card daily
- Actively participate in all plant safety programs, depending on location
Qualifications
- High School Graduate/G.E.D.
- Class A Commercial Driver’s License
- Must be able to safely drive truck and operate motorized equipment trucks
- 2 years commercial truck driving experience (equivalent Military DD214 experience is acceptable)
- Thorough knowledge of traffic laws and defensive driving
- Ability to work independently or with a team
- Ability to plan and manage time efficiently
- Ability to work safely throughout the day and prevent unsafe conditions
- Must be willing to unload and load
- Forklift certified (in house training program available)
