Compensation Overview
The annual base salary range provided for this position is a nationwide market range and represents a broad range of salaries for this role across the country. The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment. As part of our comprehensive compensation and benefits program, employees are also eligible for performance-based cash incentive awards.
Salary Range
$76,200.00 – $125,800.00

What Is the Opportunity?
The Sr. Consultant, Compliance is primarily responsible for researching, analyzing, reviewing, and disseminating legislative and regulatory directives. In addition, this Senior Consultant will assist in managing various kinds of company licensing renewals for multiple insurance underwriting companies.
What Will You Do?
- Regulatory Change Management
Review and communicate new or revised laws, regulations, bulletins and regulatory publications applicable to Travelers business.
Work with the applicable business partners on lower complexity legal/regulatory change.
Escalate more complex legal/regulatory change matters to management and/or internal stakeholders for attention.
Licensing
Facilitate and monitor the licensing of company entities with applicable state rules and regulations by obtaining and maintaining licenses.
Assist with response to regulatory inquiries and investigations regarding licensing.
May have contact with regulatory bodies.
Market Regulatory Activity
With guidance and oversight, participate in the coordination of information and responses for non-financial market regulatory activities, including market conduct exams, interrogatories, surveys, and data calls.
Support the coordination and review of information and responses with other business groups and/or Corporate Compliance.
Address General Compliance Issues
Assists in providing internal stakeholders with advice and consultation on matters related to compliance with laws, regulations, applicable company policies, and ethical behavior.
What Will Our Ideal Candidate Have?
- Minimum Qualifications
Minimum of 3 years of relevant business and/or regulatory experience.
Job Specific Technical Skills & Competencies
5 years of relevant business and/or regulatory experience (preferred).
Ability to analyze and understand laws and regulations as required.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to actively listen and empathize and pay attention to detail and clearly convey information to various audiences.
Relationship building skills with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively with internal and external partners and build rapport.
Ability to manage time and competing priorities and provide management with accurate and timely status information.
Analyze information using reasoning and judgement to make decisions and solve problems.
Experience with state jurisdictional guidelines, regulations, and procedures.
Excellent creative problem-solving skills and ability to identify compliance-related matters.
Thinks strategically with ability to develop new methods, processes and/or approaches to achieving objectives. Is resourceful in solving problems by identifying customer needs and taking appropriate action to meet those needs.
Ability to gather, analyze and interpret information to propose recommendations.
