PURPOSE:
The Sr Strategic Marketing and Communications Consultant executes and develops marketing and communication strategies to drive impact and performance in the market. In this role, the Sr. Consultant will focus on sales enablement strategies and execution plans that support the internal sales teams, external brokers and employers, to grow engagement and strengthen partnerships. With an integrated approach that applies a strategic mix of marketing and communication channels, the Sr Consultant serves as the primary lead, liaising between marketing and the stakeholder, business units and partners (cross-functional collaboration). Having end-to-end ownership of the development, planning, and execution of several high- level special projects and corporate or divisional initiatives. This role is on point to represent marketing at large in executive meetings, while also creating opportunities for the successful mentorship and development of team members. Knowledge/prior experience in healthcare/insurance industry preferred.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Leads the development and implementation of the marketing and communication strategy across various audiences and channels. Works closely with business divisions to understand opportunities and priorities to provide strategic oversight and direction of various marketing and communications needs-focusing on segment specific growth and retention.
- Leads the development and amplification of strategic marketing and communications, including but not limited to tactical printed marketing materials, digital communications (website, social media, etc.) presentations, thought leadership, talking points, go-to-market campaigns, events and more.
- Direct and work in conjunction with all support resources including but not limited to Business Divisions, Marketing Communications, Brand, Product, Public Relations, Strategic Research, Legal and Compliance.
- Serves as a mentor to consultants.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:
Position does not have direct reports but is expected to assist in guiding and mentoring less experienced staff. May lead a team of matrixed resources.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, journalism, marketing or a related field or in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree, an additional 4 years of relevant work experience is required in addition to the required work experience.
Experience: 8 years professional communications experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 3 years of sales and/or health insurance experience.
- Good understanding of healthcare trends.
- An understanding of government regulations and experience dealing with government regulations.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs)
- Progressive experience in marketing communications with demonstrated leadership.
- Experience in advertising, brand management, marketing communications, strategic planning with proven ability to develop strategies.
- Strong proofreading and editing skills.
- Ability to maintain effective interpersonal relationships.
- Executive level presentation skills.
- Participates with Senior Leadership on strategy development and issue resolution.
Salary Range: $75,168 – $149,292
