Senior Copywriter

From informing decisions to providing actionable guidance and showcasing our team and clients’ valuable work, we play a pivotal role.

As our team develops and customizes both internal and external messaging for various audiences, our roles go beyond simply fulfilling requests. We are also tapped as consultants to evaluate the best and most effective strategies to deliver messaging and be able to back it with a well-grounded basis for our communication choices.

Members of the Communications team are spread across markets, and this is a hybrid role. Typical in-person collaboration in the local office occurs twice a week, and travel to the corporate office in Walnut Creek, CA, occurs at least six times a year.

Responsibilities

    • Collaborate seamlessly with cross-functional teams to understand goals and desired outcomes
    • Create well-structured, captivating written narratives across diverse platforms such as web, print, social media, and presentations
    • Work closely with designers to distill information into clear and accessible content, forming the foundation for graphics and marketing materials
    • Champion our brand, ensuring voice and tone align with current communication approaches and project goals
    • Drive engagement on our intranet (Microsoft SharePoint) through active involvement in communication strategies
    • Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging communication techniques
    • Support successful system and technology rollouts through strategic communication and content creation
    • Utilize Google, social media, and other analytics to track the effectiveness of communication efforts and continuously seek ways to enhance based on user feedback and AEC benchmarks

Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, English, or a related field
    • 3-6 years of experience in professional writing, preferably within a cross-functional or AEC industry context
    • Exceptional writing skills and a knack for storytelling, making technical topics relatable and engaging
    • Proficiency in adapting tone and style to suit different communication channels and target audiences
    • Strong collaboration skills, effectively working with diverse teams and providing constructive feedback
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and familiarity with content management systems and digital communication tools for websites and social media
    • Attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple writing projects concurrently
    • Self-driven attitude with a willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment
    • Experience within the AEC industry is a plus

$75,000 – $100,000 a year

The salary range for this position is $75,000-$100,000 per year. Placement within the stated pay range will be determined based upon education, experience, and qualifications.
