Senior Corporate Communications Consultant (Hybrid)

PURPOSE:
The Sr Corporate Communications Consultant executes and develops corporate communications strategies that keep the target audience – the CareFirst Boards of Directors and Executive Leadership team – engaged and informed. They deliver tactics using a strategic mix of communication channels. The Sr Consultant is the primary lead for developing strategic communication plans in support of high-level special projects and corporate or divisional initiatives. This role presents communications strategies at board and executive meetings and mentors less experienced team members.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Leads the development and implementation of the board relations communication strategy across various audiences and channels. Works closely with business divisions to understand opportunities and priorities to provide strategic oversight and direction of various communications need which may be anticipated or unplanned.
  • Leads the development and amplification of strategic communications, including but not limited to tactical printed materials, digital communications, pre-read and meeting presentations, thought leadership, talking points and more.
  • Direct and work in conjunction with all support resources including but not limited to Business Divisions, Marketing and Product, Public Relations, Strategy and Planning, Legal and Compliance, and the Office of the CEO.
  • Serves as a mentor to communication consultants.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing or a related field OR In lieu of a Bachelor’s degree, an additional 4 years of relevant work experience is required in addition to the required work experience.

Experience: 8 years professional communications experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Executive Communications Experience.
  • Heath Insurance Experience.
  • Good understanding of healthcare trends.
  • An understanding of government regulations and experience dealing with government regulations.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs)

  • Progressive experience in marketing communications with demonstrated leadership.
  • Experience in advertising, brand management, marketing communications, strategic planning with proven ability to develop strategies.
  • Strong proofreading and editing skills.
  • Ability to maintain effective interpersonal relationships.
  • Executive level presentation skills.
  • Participates with Senior Leadership on strategy development and issue resolution.

Salary Range: $75,168 – $149,292
