The Role
Reporting to the Director of Health Data Management, the Senior Data Analyst will join the Veeva Compass Data team and will lead the data management of reference healthcare data. The role involves creating data models for various health data terminologies, ensuring referential integrity to medical and pharmacy claims as well as clinical data. The role entails developing and implementing improvements in data quality and master data management solutions.
What You’ll Do
- Recognizes data-related accuracy/problems, recommends potential solutions and ultimately implements solutions
- Execute data querying, cleansing, and analysis. Understand the impact of missing values, recognize discrepancies, and apply methods for deduplication
- Researches and resolves data integrity issues. Works independently or with other departments to solve problems
- Build expertise on the data in Veeva Compass, contributing to documentation and validation reports
- Exploratory analytics to find data issues and provide recommendations for fixing
- Test changes in the data (both planned and unplanned) to determine the impact on customers
- Collaborate with talented colleagues – Data Scientists, Product Managers, and Developers to ensure data is built and delivered with quality
Requirements
- 5+ years of related experience in healthcare data analysis
- Comprehensive knowledge of medical terminology, medical procedures, and diagnoses (is); ICD-10-CM, CPT and HCPCS coding, and NDC
- Advanced SQL skills; able to query and manipulate relational databases
- Independently able to ensure accuracy, data integrity, and completeness of data and analysis in all work
- Eagerness to learn, a detail-oriented mindset, and a creative approach to problem-solving
- Experience illustrating and demonstrating data quality analysis results with key stakeholders (via Excel and/or Tableau)
- Energized by working through complex problems and bringing innovation to products
- Experience using collaboration tools such as Jira and Confluence
- Bachelor’s degree in a STEM or quantitative field, or equivalent technical experience

Base pay: $65,000 – $145,000
The salary range listed represents the potential base salary range for this position. The actual salary will vary for each candidate based on experience, market, and expected contributions.
