As a Data Center Operations Analyst, you will perform a key role in delivering the core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft’s online services including Bing, Office 365, Xbox, OneDrive, and the Microsoft Azure platform. Responsibilities:
As a Senior Data Center Operations Analyst, you will:
Data-Driven Analysis
- Develop & implement analytical models that establish an improved data-driven understanding of our Data Center Operations worldwide, driving continuous improvements, and informed staffing decisions
- Analyze and interpret data to provide recommendations and insights into datacenter-related staffing models, support, and capacity demand drivers
- Collaborate and engage with subject matter experts to gain operational insight into building analytical models leveraging real-life experiences
- Use standard and ad-hoc reporting methods to gather and consolidate pertinent data to run resource modeling scenarios
- Provide support and sustained development for internal data infrastructure leveraged by Data Center Operations
- Participate in technical communities to stay informed of best practices and changes within the broader discipline and share them with the organization
Operational Excellence:
- Serve as subject matter expert and model compliance to team members.
- Drive consistency in processes and services to align with defined policies and procedures to meet expectations for accuracy and timeliness of delivery.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to influence workstreams towards a more simplified and/or automated approach by evolving processes, services, and solutions to increase efficiency and manage costs.

Qualifications:
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent AND 2+ years’ experience delivering server and network deployment projects in large-scale environments
- OR 3+ years’ experience supporting IT equipment or related technology.
- 3+ years of experience in data engineering, data modeling, analytics and statistics
- 3+ years of experience in SQL
- 3+ years of experience in Python/R
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Analytics, Data Science, Engineering, Computer Science, Business, Economics or related field AND 4+ years’ experience in data analysis and reporting, data science, business intelligence, or business and financial analysis
- Experience in SQL Server Analysis Services, OLAP, DAX and MDX
- Data visualization experience using platforms like Power BI, Excel
- Experience analyzing big data and stochastic modeling to drive business decisions
Data Center Operations Management IC4 – The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $99,000 – $195,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $129,500 – $216,000 per year.

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
- Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
