Microsoft’s Cloud Operations & Innovation (CO+I) is the engine that powers our cloud services. As a CO+I Senior Datacenter Program Manager, Build/Construction Northern Virginia Metro, you will perform a key role in delivering the core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft’s online services including Bing, Office 365, Xbox, OneDrive, and the Microsoft Azure platform. Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent AND 2+ years program management experience working on large scale projects in a data center engineering and/or construction management role
    • OR 3+ years’ program management experience working on large scale projects in a data center engineering and/or construction management role.

Other Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications :

  • 3+ years’ experience in Critical Environment infrastructures (e.g., Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS), Generator, Air Handling Unit (AHU)) or working in physical IT infrastructures.
  • Technical College degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience in project management or relevant certification/training in project management.

Data Center Operations Management IC4 – The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $99,000 – $195,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $129,500 – $216,000 per year.

Responsibilities:

  • Establish good working relationships with all the Construction stakeholders.
  • Attend all Metro new build, expansion and retrofit project related design, construction, and commissioning meetings.
  • Be the liaison between Construction and Operations (be the voice for Operations) and escalate any issues that could cause impact.
  • Participate in all Construction/Operations walk throughs, as well as routine construction inspections during the builds.
  • Coordinate and execute turnover operations, ensure turnover checklist is completed and validated, and all turnover artifacts are delivered on time.
  • Document and report lessons learned from each project.
  • Monitors services and key performance indicators (KPIs), objectives and key results (OKRs), service level agreements (SLAs), and operational level agreement (OLAs) and reports trends and service anomalies.
  • Keep track of all the latest and upcoming key milestones and deliverables.
  • Leads key processes, such as team and triage meetings, prioritizes work across the team, and rebalances priorities to respond to changes.
  • Standardizes infrastructure equipment, processes, and workflows through design, construction, and turnover of world class facilities.
  • Assists with new facility design & commissioning, coordinating the installation of core network infrastructures.
