Job Description: We are seeking an eDiscovery Data Specialist II in Washington, D.C. This is a mid-level position operating under the direction of more senior Contractor IT staff. This is a remote position. However, onsite work may be required on an ad-hoc basis and candidate must be in the Washington, D.C. metro area.

The Data Specialist II will perform the following tasks:

  • Support a government contracting team providing litigation support services, providing excellent customer service and solutions to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Data processing, loading, workspace field and support
  • Consistently deliver well-articulated, balanced, and informed communications.
  • Participate in defining and maintaining the processes and tools that allow team and client to meet client needs.
  • Develop strong partnerships with the clients and supporting Leidos team leaders to provide stellar customer service.
  • Establish or refine processes and delivery methodologies to enable successful delivery on project goals.
  • Serve as a key stakeholder in the development of technical project documentation.
  • Establish collaborative relationships with co-workers and team members.
  • Assist client and management in other client service tasks as needed.

Primary Responsibilities include:

  • Performs file manipulation, loading, conversion services, database indexing, and quality checks of loads.
  • Develops, evaluates and modifies methodologies and procedures for manipulating files for use with COTS products and litigation support applications.
  • Responsible for ensuring that incoming productions are made pursuant to the applicable ESI specifications and when deficiencies are found, provides Senior Data Specialist with detailed notice of deficiencies.
  • Performs advanced tasks related to exporting data from contractor and DOJ databases, including: identifying data for export, confirming redactions and other markups, ensuring that exports comply with applicable ESI specifications, and quality check of exported data.
  • Work among a high-performing and collaborative team in supporting all government clients with litigation support needs
  • Creating Relativity workspaces, indices, layouts, fields, views
  • Processing data, loading data, exporting/producing data
  • Respond to incoming requests for assistance with Relativity, including general database administration tasks, advanced troubleshooting, and consultation on workflow solutions.
  • Leverage Relativity expertise to advise client on latest technology and best practices.
  • Draft internal and external documentation, including standard protocols, policies, and lessons learned in order to improve efficiency, standardize processes and enhance overall user experience.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Requires knowledge of litigation discovery process, and the Electronic Discovery Reference Model (EDRM) workflow.
  • Working knowledge of personal computers, including Windows, document review software, and encryption methods.
  • Experience with LAW, IPRO, Relativity or other document processing platform.
  • At least two (2) years’ experience performing eDiscovery roles including but not limited to electronic files processing (EFP), image and data file conversion, data culling using review tools, quality assurance, database loads and retrieval, and data analysis.
  • The ability to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of Government’s IT environment, including office automation networks, PC and server based applications preferred .
  • Familiarity with ICONECT, Relativity, MS Office Suite, and West LiveNote valued .
  • Undergraduate degree preferred-preferably in computer science or related field.
  • Over one (1) year experience hands-on administrative work in Relativity.
  • Over one (1) experience with data processing using IPro and Relativity
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and inter-personal skills with both eDiscovery technical teams and non-technical business leaders and team player
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, agile work environment.
  • Experience and familiarity with eDiscovery Services covering all realms of the EDRM (File to Trial)
  • Active clearance U.S. Government security clearance preferred.

This position is covered under the Service Contract Act and is subject to minimum wage requirements as well as the minimum Health and Welfare benefit. Leidos will ensure that all provisions are met through their wages and benefits. The pay for this position will be $35.16/hr.
