What you will be doing

The Customer Lifecycle and Relationship Marketing team is responsible for managing customer relationships throughout the entire customer journey by using various customer data and insights to design and implement effective customer engagement strategies at each stage of the customer lifecycle, from initial awareness and acquisition to planning and shopping, and to retention and loyalty beyond shopping. We are passionate about serving our customers’ needs across their lifecycle and journeys using relevancy, personalization, targeted promotions, and best-in-class customer lifecycle and relationship management practices.

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Director of Customer Lifecycle Marketing Analytics to join our team. In this role, you will lead the development and implementation of our customer lifecycle and relationship marketing strategy by leveraging data science, modeling of customer lifetime value, and advanced analytics, to recommend targeted and personalized marketing campaigns and offers. You will also be responsible for creating measurement and analyses frameworks that allow for feedback loops and optimization of campaigns on a day-to-day basis.

The position will be based in Pleasanton, CA or one of our main regional offices (Seattle, WA, Portland, OR, Boise, ID, Denver CO, Dallas TX, Chicago, IL, Fullerton, CA, or Phoenix, AZ).

Main responsibilities

  • Develop and implement customer relationship marketing and personalization strategies that maximize customer lifetime value and drives revenue growth.
  • Utilize data science and advanced analytics to develop predictive models and segmentation strategies that optimize marketing campaigns and improve customer engagement.
  • Develop and implement measurement frameworks and KPIs to monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of marketing campaigns and programs.
  • Build and lead a team of analysts and data scientists in the development of analytical models and algorithms. Manage the vision and roadmap for the team.
  • Collaborate with central data science, data product, and engineering teams, serving as the primary marketing liaison, to guide direction of data science and data product and operations roadmap for marketing and personalization related workstreams.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, product, and engineering, to develop and execute customer-centric initiatives.
  • Provide thought leadership and drive innovation in the areas of customer lifecycle and relationship marketing, and data science.
  • Partner with external vendors and agencies to supplement in-house analytical and modeling capabilities and deliver business objectives.
  • Stay current on emerging trends and technologies in the field of data science, customer relationship marketing, personalization, and analytics.
  • Track and report on performance, ensuring each program is delivering differentiated value against its intended objective. Institute rigorous test-and-learn methodology to optimize media programs.
  • Use a range of analytics and measurement tools to understand and analyze customer segment and marketing channel performance and ensure marketing efficiency is continuously optimized with a strong focus on revenue and customer acquisition.
  • Work cross-functionally to manage bottlenecks, provide escalation management, anticipate, and make trade-offs, balance the business needs versus technical constraints, and maximize business benefit.

The salary range is $159K to $ 222K annually. Starting salary will vary based on criteria such as location, experience, and qualifications. There may be flexibility for exceptional candidates. Benefits may include medical, dental, vision, disability and life insurance, sick pay (accrued based on hours worked), PTO/Vacation Pay (accrued based on hours worked) or Flexible Time Off, paid holidays (8-9 days annually), bereavement pay, and retirement benefits (such as 401(k) eligibility). What we are searching for

  • Master’s degree in Analytics, Data Science, Math, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 12 years of leadership experience in leading high performing advanced analytics, data science, customer and marketing analytics or similar teams, along with hands-on experience and academic qualifications in related fields.
  • Proven experience leading teams of analysts and data scientists in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Strong background in data science and predictive modeling, with a focus on customer lifetime value.
  • Proficient in statistical modeling tools such as R, Python, SAS, and SQL.
  • Expertise in advanced analytics and machine learning techniques such as clustering, propensity modeling, decision trees, customer lifetime value modeling, look-alikes, and regression analysis.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly present complex data insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong business acumen, with a track record of driving measurable business results through data-driven insights.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and external partners.
  • Strong understanding of audience segmentations, customer targeting, omnichannel operations
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to handle multiple active projects and priorities.
  • Strong initiative, customer service focus and excellent interpersonal skills with experience in negotiation and consensus building.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
