The Role
The Senior Electrical Engineer will be a part of the Energy Infrastructure Engineering group and will be directly responsible for the Strategic Front-End Design and Standardization of High Voltage and Medium Voltage Electrical Systems-Architecture.
Responsibilities
- Lead Front-end Electrical Engineering Design of medium to large-scale greenfield and brownfield projects (Manufacturing, Process, and R&D Labs)
- Design and Perform calculations for HV, MV and LV electrical systems for infrastructure and building projects, including Power Distribution Systems, Lighting, Operational Controls and Alarms and Grounding Systems
- Prepare and review drawings and construction/procurement specifications, collaborate with estimating team members in preparation of equipment and construction estimates to a sufficient level of ROM accuracy
- Specific proven expertise and experience in the areas of: Designing Substations; Main Power Distribution plantwide through engineered solutions of infrastructure and equipment; motor control centers (including Layouts, Transformer specification and sizing, Automatic Transfer Switch Specification and Sizing, Bus sizing and AIC calculations for ratings; Breaker Sizing and Single Line Diagram preparations); Design of Control systems including Ladder diagrams; Sizing Conductors and Conduit and Layouts/Routings for maximum efficiency and minimized cost; designs and layouts of ductbanks, pullboxes, cabling deration for Underground Distribution Systems; Preparation of point-to-point wiring diagrams
- Participate effectively during Factory Drawing Approvals and Witness Tests for large equipment manufacturing IAW the applicable ANSI/IEEE/NEC/NESC Standards
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree (4-year minimum equivalent) in Electrical Engineering, concentration in Power/Infrastructure/Construction from an ABET accredited Engineering Program – Masters in Electrical Engineering (Power) Preferred
- 5-6 years of Industry experience, employed by recognized electrical or MEP multi-discipline consulting engineering firms executing projects in a highly visible, high-technology manufacturing environment
- Proven experience in reviewing engineering data submittals and shop drawings; preparation of responses to contractors’ RFI’s; creating effective punch lists based on field observations
- Solid working knowledge of ACAD, Revit, ETAP, Proficiency in applying the NEC and related NFPA Codes and regulations adopted by the AHJ in the areas of project work
- Solid knowledge of electrical testing and verification requirements including NETA, ANSI/IEEE, UL, CSA, and other approved NRTL’s
- Ability to prioritize effectively, balance assigned work and exceptional organization skills are required for our fast-paced, constantly evolving environment
- Proven experiences designing and deploying/troubleshooting systems with PLC’s, DCS’s, and SCADA platforms
- Proven experience and proficiency utilizing electrical and mechanical engineering theories and best practices to follow company policies, procedures and quality/safety standards
- Very strong preference will be considered for candidates who provide proven capabilities/experience/success in solving difficult problems that require adaptation, modification of more standard approaches, techniques, procedures and criteria, with a keen eye towards innovation and “thinking outside the box.”
- Proficiency using the Microsoft Suite of platforms – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Bluebeam

$92,000 – $300,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
