Senior Environmental & Product Specialist

The Senior Environmental & Product Specialist is responsible for collecting, recording, and centralizing EAI market product requirements and regulations such that EAI products can legally be imported, commercialized, maintained, and disposed of in market. Proactively monitor changing regulations in defined markets to minimize risk and anticipate needed product re-alignment to that market’s changing requirements.

This position will be based out of Epson America’s headquarters in Los Alamitos, CA with a hybrid schedule. At Epson, our hybrid schedule is only 6 days per month.

What you will be doing:

  • Consolidates regulatory information from Regional Managers, summarizing key activities and highlighting new information critical to business operations.
  • Maintains Regulatory and Compliance Reporting Database for global headquarters.
  • Assists Regional Managers to monitor regulations and submit compliance reporting documents.
  • Assures the company is aware of all current and upcoming product regulatory requirements which include (C1) regional product compliance regulations, (C2) regional product chemical restrictions, and (C3) regional product stewardship & takeback regulations
  • Communicates any regulatory change that could impact Epson operations by maintaining the Epson SEC regulatory database
  • Monitors developing product regulations.
  • Analyzes impact of new product regulations on existing EAI operations and communicates findings to department regional managers.
  • Participates in trade association committees to monitor regulations
  • Performs TSCA inventory analysis for designated chemicals as required and maintains department TSCA manual and annual polymer exemption reports
  • Creates auditable department regulatory procedures as required including communication flowcharts
  • Maintains communication with regional managers to determine local impact of regional product regulations.
  • Builds strong relationships with peers and senior country and department management to best meet company goals and objectives.

What you will bring:

  • 2-5+ years experience
  • Completion of an undergraduate program or equivalent experience (B.A. or B.S.)
  • Experience with North America/Latin America consumer electronics regulatory documentation and compliance reporting, including EPA, TSCA, Energy Star, EPEAT.
  • Fluency in Spanish, Portuguese, and/or Japanese a plus

The starting annual base pay for this role is between USD $78,081 and $107,362. Please note that this position’s salary range may include multiple levels. The actual base is dependent upon many factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
