Gannett Fleming is seeking a Senior Estimator for the New York office who specializes in mediation calculation & analysis, has a minimum of 15 years of experience as an estimator and is excellent in calculating prime time, labor escalation, and unstandardized coefficients.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct mediation calculations and in-depth analysis
- Calculate prime time, labor escalation, and unstandardized coefficients
- Meets with clients to determine their needs, objectives, timelines and to gather estimating inputs.
- Prepare and/or ensure the preparation of detailed cost estimates for all phases of design and/or construction.
- Supervise the development of quantity surveys and cost evaluations relating to design documents, contract drawings, specifications or contract changes.
- Works with clients to develop deliverables that fit within the client’s estimating budget.
- Develops customized estimating strategies for each project.
- Participate in cost negotiations.
- Identifies key designer, supplier, and trade contractor resources to ensure accurate scopes and pricing.
- Uses costing databases and historical data to price estimates.
- Assesses areas of financial risk, develops preventative measures and their attendant costs.
- Checks all pricing for adequacy and appropriate modifications.
- Employs escalation strategies to ensure accuracy of escalated historical pricing and current pricing escalated to future years.
- Prepares general conditions costs based on anticipated schedule, phasing, and specific project needs.
- Prepares indirect costs appropriate for the type of project, procurement, and prime contractor.
Minimum Qualifications:
- BS degree, preferably in engineering, construction management or architecture
- At least 15 years estimating experience; experience to be specifically in a construction environment. five (5) years must have been in one of the estimating areas of architecture, electrical, mechanical or plumbing; the remaining three (3) years must have been in any combination of technical construction related areas.
- Specialize in mediation calculation & analysis
- Excellence in calculating prime time, labor escalation, and unstandardized coefficients
- Proficient in the MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Good oral and written communication skills.
