As the Operations Manager – facilities you will be responsible for the growth and maintenance of multiple large facilities for space hardware. This position is responsible for the definition and project management of large capital projects critical to Project Kuiper’s success.

Key job responsibilities
- Develop and design solutions to difficult problems, manage outside contractors and be on call for emergencies
- Handle multiple projects and daily activities, meet deadlines and develop plans on how to accomplish program goals
- Ensuring that all safety programs and procedures are followed, develop and maintain preventative maintenance programs and good working relationships with operations.
- Work with contractors to compile project specifics including site survey, landlord work letter and permitting requirements
- Review and approve construction drawings, schedule, and costs
- Coordinate with contractors, operations, and maintenance teams to define design facility requirements and install specialty equipment
- Establish effective relationships with municipalities
- Develop an understanding of local permit processes
- Manage utility budgets for the facilities as equipment is defined and installed
- Export Control Requirement: Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 7+ years of employee and performance management experience
- 5+ years of distribution or manufacturing field with equivalent mechanical or electrical field experience
- 7+ years of facilities management, office management, corporate administrative services, or hospitality management experience
- Bachelor’s degree, or 2+ years of Amazon experience
- Work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in design review process to incorporate electrical, mechanical, automation controls solutions to drive equipment reliability and standards
- Experience in automated conveyors systems and controls, electrical and electronic principles, blueprint and electrical schematic reading, CMMS programs, preventive maintenance procedures, industrial electrical, industrial controls , industrial electronics
- An effective multi-tasker who navigates a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with grace and efficiency.
- Excellent at creating and maintaining working relationships across all levels and disciplines, receptive to feedback and input from others, and quick to apply changes.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $98,700/year in our lowest geographic market up to $183,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
