Meet the team:

At Dexcom, we are currently looking for a Senior Financial Analyst (FP&A) to join our growing Global Finance organization! This position will be responsible for managing the various aspects of expense analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and ad-hoc financial analysis to support the high impact R&D organization.

Where you come in:
• Daily interface with the various R&D senior leaders as well as finance stakeholders such as the corporate FP&A, tax and accounting teams.
• Develop a deep understanding of R&D departmental expenses involving regular communication with business partners while offering support, ideas, solutions to help manage costs and drive organizational efficiency.
• Develop monthly reporting packages that include key analytic measurements, business trends, and comprehensive variance explanations. Present results and analysis in Finance and R&D meetings.
• Transition routine reporting and month-end tasks to FP&A team in Manila and continue to build skills and functionality of the team in support of all Dexcom FP&A analysts.
• Uses technical skills to streamline processes to reduce time dedicated to collecting and analyzing the data
• Support the R&D budgeting and forecasting process and provide critical thinking to support the organizational transformation underway need to support the high growth demand of Dexcom products
• Month-end close support including accounting accruals and variance analysis as well as cost center expense and headcount reporting for the R&D organization
• Build strong, collaborative relationships across the Dexcom organization to deliver strategic value from the finance function.
• Become highly skilled with Hyperion planning, Tableau financial data/reports and WorkDay. Be able to query/upload/download data. Run standardize reports from systems as well as develop custom reports fitting
• Develop profitability models and business cases to help business decisions for a variety of cost efficiency projects, new product introductions
• Open to career development opportunities such as project work in other FP&A functions, mentoring summer interns

What makes you successful:
• Advanced to expert in Microsoft Office Excel (modeling, pivot tables, vlookup, macros, filters).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Understanding of general accounting principles & essential financial reporting for P&L and balance sheet (accruals, prepaids, capital expenditures).
• Technical ability to work with large data sets from multiple systems and apply good business judgment.
• Strong work ethic with a collaborative attitude and confident written and verbal communicator
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize and meet deadlines while delivering consistent, accurate and reliable work.
• Strong interpersonal skills to interact with Accounting, R&D department owners and upper management
• Experience working in a finance department of a medium to large FDA regulated company.
• Experience in Hyperion Financial Management/Smartview/Essbase, Tableau and WorkDay
• Experience with EPM performance management systems

Exempt Salary Details:
• The annual base salary range for this role is $75,200 to $125,300. Final compensation package will ultimately depend on factors including relevant experience, skillset, knowledge, business needs and market demand.

Experience and Education

  • Typically requires a Bachelors degree and a minimum of 5-8 years of related experience.
