A national consulting firm is seeking a senior financial/rate analyst and project manager for its Bellevue, Spokane, or Olympia WA office. The firm provides management/financial planning and technical studies consulting services.
Primary Responsibilities
In the role of Senior Financial/Rate Analyst, we’ll count on you to:
• Plan and manage all aspects of small to medium single-discipline projects or large, routine project
• Project management, research, analysis and evaluation of financial programs and projects; preparation and analysis of cost of service/rate studies; development of technical approach to resolve operational, management, budget, capital and other financial and policy related issues; creation of reports, presentations, and proposals on utility financial and rate setting project
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with both financial and non-financial individuals.
• Experience in managing utility rate studies, leading junior staff, and related analyses is required.
• Independently coordinate work of professional staff and balance team throughout entire project’s development
• Participate in reviews with various governing agencies for compliance
• Conduct work sessions for design development and contract document in conjunction with other staff
• Work with Business/Accounting Manager or Project Controller and Department Manager for project reviews and with company management as needed
• Perform other duties as needed
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in related field
• A minimum of 10 years related experience
• Must have the ability to interact with various design teams, have excellent organizational, project management and communication (both written and verbal) skill
• Ability to travel two or more days per week.
• Fully vaccinated for COVID-19. This position requires onsite client visits, or, this position will be co-located at the client site. The client requires all contractors/consultants/vendors who work or visit the site be fully vaccinated for COVID-19.
• An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
Preferred Qualifications
• Advanced (MBA, MPA) degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or related field of study
• Prior experience as a rate analyst or similar work for/at a municipal agency
• Strong working knowledge of excel and word, and PowerPoint required. The ideal candidate shall have a strong attention to detail, manage multiple projects independently, and successfully work in a demanding environment with demanding deadlines.
