Role description:

Arcadis is seeking a Geotechnical Engineer to join an established and growing national engineering design and construction team of multi-disciplinary professionals. As the selected candidate, you will provide technical and business development support for projects across the United States (US), Canada, and globally as needed. The position may be located in any of our US offices.

In this position, you will provide geotechnical engineering expertise on a variety of projects. Project work may include mine reclamation, coal ash, sediment remediation, waterfront structures, or in situ solidification and stabilization depending on qualifications. Work will entail a mixture of feasibility studies, design, construction quality assurance, and strategic/business development. This is a great opportunity for a senior or principal engineer to join a team and offer leadership and mentorship to our diverse group of geotechnical engineers while working on large and complex projects across the US and around the world.

Role accountabilities:

  • Join our Geotechnical Technical Solutions Team as an emerging leader and key participant
  • Provide technical and strategic leadership to engineering teams
  • Perform geotechnical engineering reviews and provide key input on critical projects
  • Perform constructability reviews and provide input on smart construction technologies and sustainable construction operations
  • Apply engineering principles to develop effective solutions
  • Mentor and develop mid-level and junior staff
  • Identify and pursue business growth opportunities
  • Act as or become Engineer of Record on appropriate projects

Preferred technical proficiencies:

  • Experience across a wide variety of environmental geotechnical applications and design
  • Field and laboratory geotechnical testing methods, techniques, and results interpretation
  • Geotechnical investigation, monitoring methods and techniques
  • Construction monitoring, testing and documentation
  • Soft-ground mechanics and stabilization techniques
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strategic thinker
  • Seller/Do-er
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint and applicable geotechnical modeling software

Qualifications & Experience:

Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or closely related field
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license •
  • Minimum 15 years of experience
  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Travel is required (approximately 25%)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in civil engineering or closely related field
  • OSHA HAZWOPER and current 8-hr refresher
  • Experience with Autodesk Civil 3D, GeoStudio (or similar), Arc Map, Modelling expertise (PLAXIS or similar)

This position is eligible for participating in a company bonus program. The salary range for this position is $126750 – 242938 / year.
