Essential Functions/Typical Tasks
Prince George County Parks and Recreation is currently seeking qualified applicants for the position of Senior Grounds Maintenance Worker. This position will be responsible for overseeing and participating in the maintenance and repair of parks, playing fields, equipment and facilities; maintains files and records.

Qualification Requirements
General knowledge of maintenance methods and practices; general knowledge of grass maintenance techniques; ability to understand and follow specific oral instructions; ability to perform manual labor for extended periods, often under unfavorable weather conditions; ability to operate tools and equipment safely; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates.
Special Requirements
Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school and considerable experience in the performance of maintenance and repair work. May require certification in playground safety and/or pesticide application.

PART-TIME REGULAR EMPLOYEES: Part-time regular employees, who work a minimum of twenty hours per week in a continuous year-round position, are eligible to receive one half of the County’s contribution for health insurance premiums, provided the employee is responsible for the remainder of the premium. Leave shall be accrued on a pro-rata basis based on the regularly scheduled hours of work.
