The Role
Reporting to the Director of Health Data Management, the Senior Data Analyst will join the Veeva Compass Data team and will lead the integration of healthcare payer data into the product and will also onboard new data from external healthcare sources into existing data structures. The role involves preparing, analyzing, and integrating high volume (tens of millions of records) of healthcare data creating value for Veeva`s customers by ensuring high quality and high trust data.
What You`ll Do
- Explore and derive insights from high volumes of inbound health data to ensure accuracy, completeness, reliability, relevance, and timeliness
- Execute data querying, cleansing, and analysis. Understand the impact of missing values, recognize discrepancies, and apply methods for deduplication
- Conduct analyses and field mapping on data from potential new data sources to evaluate how well the data would integrate into the current data network
- Articulate data quality nuances and issues to stakeholders so that they can understand the root cause and any resolution necessary- Contribute meaningfully to process improvements for the team
- Perform data investigations and exploratory analysis to focus on continuous improvement of our Veeva Compass suite of products
- Build expertise on the data in Veeva Compass, contributing to documentation and validation reports
- Exploratory analytics to find data issues and provide recommendations for fixing
- Test changes in the data (both planned and unplanned) to determine the impact on customers
- Collaborate with talented colleagues- Data Scientists, Product Managers, and Developers to ensure data is built and delivered with quality
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience analyzing prescription data and medical claims data (highly knowledgeable in payer data)
- 5+ years of experience with the principles of data analysis and data quality
- Advanced SQL skills; able to query and manipulate relational databases
- Knowledge of Industry Standard billing codes such as ICD, CPT/HCPCS, NDC
- Eagerness to learn, a detail-oriented mindset, and a creative approach to problem-solving
- Experience illustrating and demonstrating data quality analysis results with key stakeholders (via Excel and/or Tableau)
- Energized by working through complex problems and bringing innovation to products
- Experience using collaboration tools such as Jira and Confluence
- Bachelor`s degree in a STEM or quantitative field or equivalent technical experience
Nice to Have
- Experience in Python or R
- Experience in the life science industry
- Experience working with clinical data – including medical and prescriptions claims
- Experience working with an Agile team

Base pay: $65,000.00 – $145,000.00
The salary range listed represents the potential base salary range for this position. The actual salary will vary for each candidate based on experience, market, and expected contributions.
