HDR has an opening for a Senior Hydro-Meteorologist in its Denver, Colorado or Ft. Worth, TX offices. This position requires a M.S. degree in Atmospheric Science or Meteorology and 15 years’ experience in the engineering industry. The position of Senior Hydro-Meteorologist will be responsible for the production and quality assurance of meteorological products within the HDR Atmospheric Sciences Group. Additionally, this role will be responsible for project management and management of junior hydro-meteorological staff.

The primary role of this position will involve the day-to-day production and management of analyses and technical reports related to the application of atmospheric science principles and methodologies for the determination of risk to infrastructure to meet the needs of our clients. Additionally, this position will provide internal support for long-term projects within the HDR Water Business Group and throughout the entire company related to water management and risk avoidance. This position will be responsible for representing HDR within the industry as a leader in hydro-meteorological innovation and application.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in meteorology or atmospheric science
  • 15 years’ experience in engineering consulting with a specialization in meteorology
  • American Meteorological Society membership
  • Senior GIS Analyst skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • MS Excel proficiency
  • Working knowledge of HEC MetVue platform

The expected compensation range for this position is $106,890.00 – $167,970.00 annually/hourly depending upon skills, experience, education and geographical location. (Stated benefits are for full-time regular positions. Temporary and part-time roles eligible for limited benefits.)
