Job Summary

We are looking for a Cagewash Supervisor to join our Insourcing Solutions team located in Bethesda, MD.

What you will do!

In the Cagewash Supervisor role, you will use existing SOPs and quality assurance standards to provide daily direction and supervision to cagewash technicians, participate in employee programs and activities, as well as provide training activities and supervisory related activities (e.g. recruitment, separation, performance appraisal, disciplinary actions, etc.). You will also coordinate personnel scheduling, as well as supervise record maintenance, plus generate and submit internal and external reports as requested. Other tasks may include conducting routine inspections of cagewash facilities, equipment and materials; as well as coordinating preventive maintenance of all cagewash machinery, animal caging and transport equipment and materials. Additional duties can include machinery repair and general organization; participate in the development of projections for equipment, supplies, and personnel; and actively interact with customers to resolve requests, inquiries, and complaints, and to provide technical assistance.

Who are we looking for?

A candidate with a high school diploma or GED required. A minimum three years of experience in a laboratory animal facility with cagewash operations (including maintenance and use of industrial machinery), AND a minimum one year of supervisory experience in a comparable work environment required. AALAS certification at the Assistant Laboratory Animal Technician (ALAT) level or higher required. Working knowledge of detergent/disinfectant usage; and operating knowledge of autoclaves, automated washing machines and conveyors, bedding dispensers, bottle fillers and liquid proportioners preferred.

The pay range for this position is $22.00 – 24.00 USD per hour. Please note that salaries vary within the range based on factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, education, certifications, and location.
