The Senior IT Disaster Recovery Engineer for the Technical, Exercise & Validation track leads and coordinates all efforts related to recovery solutions and testing for the Disaster Recovery program including defining gaps, working with infrastructure and application partners to validate requirements and define solutions that meet expected RTO/RPO, coordinating solution implementation and managing all phases of the testing lifecycle to validate recoverability. Participates in regular review and enhancements to DR Strategy. Educates IT associates on testing and recovery including expectations and roles/responsibilities. leads Engage in and enable timely, effective decisions regarding hardware / software recovery planning. Provide complex project leadership between the technology groups and other business units, emphasizing regular direct communication with various IT groups for the purpose of planning, directing, controlling, and maintaining the Disaster Recovery program.

- Highly experienced in engaging with infrastructure and application teams to collaborate on technical gap discussions and requirements for disaster recovery including experience with recovery and system processes.
- 7+ years of experience in leading and supporting Disaster Recovery testing; including all phases of the test life cycle
- Ability to communicate and report in writing, test results to senior leaders and to conduct issue triage and follow ups post test.
- Demonstrable industry experience, knowledge, expertise in Disaster Recovery
- Understanding of enterprise network, systems and data center architecture, strategic planning, Cloud .
- Experience in backup technologies and processes a plus.
- Highly seasoned professional with sound judgment and strong verbal and written communication skills, and diplomacy in handling sensitive information.
- Proven ability to influence and collaborate with internal and external resources.
- Demonstrated ability to plan, organize and direct the disaster recovery efforts. Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Understanding of Crisis Management and Business Continuity practices
- Effective team player that can resolve conflict and offer win-win solutions to complex challenges.
- CBCP / CBCI Certification, or other equivalent industry certification preferred
- Working knowledge of RSA Archer platform and ServiceNow are highly preferred.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Visio, SharePoint) with an ability to produce professional documents ready for presentation to senior leaders.
- Ability to travel domestically (up to 25%).
- Understanding that Disaster Recovery professionals are expected to be available if an unplanned outage occurs and disaster plans must be invoked.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- 7+ years of DR experience
- Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving.
Preferred Qualifications
- CBCP/CBCI preferred.
- Agile Development experience a plus
- ITIL certification a plus

At minimum, a download speed of 25 Mbps and an upload speed of 10 Mbps is recommended to support Humana applications, per associate.
Wireless, Wired Cable or DSL connection is suggested.
Satellite, cellular and microwave connection can be used only if they provide an optimal connection for associates. The use of these methods must be approved by leadership. (See Wireless, Wired Cable or DSL Connection in Exceptions, Section 7.0 in this policy.)
Humana will not pay for or reimburse Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates for any portion of the cost of their self-provided internet service, with the exception of associates who live or work from Home in the state of California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota. Associates who live and work from Home in the state of California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota will be provided a bi-weekly payment for their internet expense.
Humana will provide Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates with telephone equipment appropriate to meet the business requirements for their position/job.

Pay Range
The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay decisions will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.
$86,600 – $119,200 per year
This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
