The Division of Facilities Planning & Management (FP&M) is a full-spectrum service organization that builds, maintains, and operates the physical environment of the UW-Madison campus in support of the university’s education, research, and outreach activities. FP&M works behind the scenes to coordinate campus planning, manage design and construction, maintain and operate buildings and grounds, supply utility services, ensure health and safety, and provide parking and transportation services.

UW Transportation Services is a department within Facilities Planning and Management (FP&M) on the UW-Madison campus. We serve a variety of customers with a diverse set of parking and transportation needs.
Transportation Services is responsible for the coordination and administration of all transportation-related services for the UW campus community. Primary functions include the sale/management of parking permits, special event coordination, maintenance and enforcement, construction coordination, lot and booth operations, citation payments and appeals, information technology, financial, transportation planning, and development of multimodal options.
More about the Senior Level Technician Position:
The person in this role will be performing diagnosis, maintenance and reports to automotive vehicles, small engines, large/agricultural vehicles and related equipment to ensure effective functioning of institutional vehicles and equipment for the Transportation Department.
Responsibilities: Performs diagnosis, maintenance and repairs to automotive vehicles, small engines, large/agricultural vehicles and related equipment to ensure effective functioning of institutional vehicles and equipment.
- 50% Inspects, maintains, and repairs complex parts and systems for small, automotive, and large-engine vehicles and equipment under general supervision to ensure optimal and safe operation
- 30% Identifies and troubleshoots complex vehicle and small-engine issues and collaborates with work unit staff to resolve issues
- 10% Documents completed maintenance and repairs according to established policies and procedures
- 5% Serves as a point of contact for individuals providing information and updates about vehicle and small-engine maintenance and repairs
- 5% Maintain a clean shop area and assist in keeping the overall shared areas of the garage clean and safe at all times. Pick up parts from local vendors when no students are available to do so.

The minimum hourly rate for this position is $26.85, but is negotiable based on experience and qualifications.
