Job Description
Role: Senior LMS Operations Specialist
Location: San Jose, CA
NOTE: U.S. Citizenship is required for this position due to the nature of duties assigned to this role.
In this role you will have the opportunity to drive significant value for our Platform Training and Enablement organization, thereby impacting the success of Zscaler at large. The Senior LMS Operation Specialist will work with our enablement organizations to implement enablement content. You engage in a variety of deliverables such as architecting curriculum, QA testing and publishing courses, enrolling users, collecting metrics, and supporting end users. The selected candidate will also be responsible for other education operations such as but not limited to managing vendors, POs, team deliverables and projects. The person in this role must be a self-starter who loves to jump in, learn, and help where needed. You have a service-oriented and growth-oriented mindset and love to diagnose and resolve issues.
This individual should be seen as an authority in actively understanding how the LMS and other Education systems can maximize the enablement opportunities. The successful candidate is comfortable interacting with leadership and stakeholders at all levels, in a dynamic, fast-paced, and growing environment.
Responsibilities/What You’ll Do:
Provide expertise on the features and function of the company learning management system (Skill Jar and Litmos) as part of the Enablement Operations Team. Partnering with stakeholders and leadership to leverage the best-in-class capabilities of the LMS system. The role includes, but is not limited to:
• Manage the day-to-day operations and maintenance of the Learning Management System (LMS) by collaborating with a team of learning and development professionals.
• Develop relationships with LMS vendors to escalate feature requests, issue resolution, bug reports, and miscellaneous feedback. Track progress of escalation to completion.
• Provide functional and technical support to prevent/resolve online learning content issues, including but not limited understanding SCORM, AICC, Tin Can, xAPI, and browser support standards for eLearning.
• As an LMS subject matter expert, monitor reoccurring issues, system/data or process gaps and provide proactive consulting to internal clients to influence best practices in project and training delivery.
• Create LMS objects including but not limited to; Curriculums, Learning Assignments, Online Training, Deep links, Dynamic and Static Groups, Certifications and Tests/Assessments.
• Deliver core support, responding to emails, resolving issues escalated from T1 support, course and class move/add/change, roster management in various systems
• Develop and maintain standardized documentation on LMS operational processes and procedures and ensure LMS governance model is being followed by all LMS admins.
• Participate in feature/functional testing as new enhancements are released.
• Coordinate the implementation and documentation of new ways of working and enhancements to the LMS.
• Support the Platform training team in vendor management, and finance management and provide project oversight tied to individual team budgets and training needs offshore and onshore.
• Provide department-level project efforts and cost, ensuring the tracking and management of all education projects across different teams and vendors.
Qualifications
Qualifications/Your Background:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or related field
• A minimum of 7+ years of experience in Education Ops and supporting and working with LMS systems and enablement or learning functions
• Proactive with a keen sense of urgency and competitive drive, with an ability to read a room and understand what information to deliver to what people.
• Independent, entrepreneurial mindset with ability to make independent decisions, with a knack for researching and solving problems
• Influential, and enthusiastic communicator, who is adaptable, embraces change, is a collaborative team player, across a team and greater organization.
• Customer service minded
• Strong attention to detail, organized and goal-oriented
• Tech-savvy with experience with SAML SSO, LMS and content integration standards (xAPI, AICC, SCORM)
• Google Suite proficiency
• Ability to analyze data
• Experience managing projects and budget
• Great written communication, and teamwork skills
Additional Information
The base salary range for this full-time position is $110,000 to $125,000+Equity+ Benefits. Zscaler’s salary ranges are benchmarked and are determined by role and level. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations and could be higher or lower based on a multitude of factors, including job-related skills, experience, location and relevant education or training.
