Our Organization and Mission: The Office represents the State of Florida in state and federal civil and criminal courts, from trial courts to the Supreme Court of the United States.

Pay: $52,000 – $54,000 annually

Position Summary: This position is in the Antitrust Enforcement Division. This position provides program management consultant services and assistance to the division in order to improve management capabilities and operational procedures. Assists in the development of rules, policies, and procedures for program activities based on trends and conditions in the Antitrust Division. Aids department officials to promote the most efficient and effective accomplishment of operating objectives at the lowest operational costs. Analyzes statements of unit goals and objectives prepared by program staff to identify duplicative functions and recommend ways to streamline operations within the division.

Requires independent formulation, analysis, and recommendation of changes in policies and procedures as well as preparation of numerous reports for the Division Director regarding cases, operations and activities of the division and the department.

Qualifications: A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and one year of experience in law enforcement, civil investigations, fraud or white-collar investigations, or any financial-related investigations or analysis. Experience as described above can substitute on a year-for-year basis for the required college education.

Preference:Experience working in a legal environment or working in a finance or accounting department preferred. Strong organizational skills required.

The Work You Will Do: The duties of this position may include but are not limited to:

  • Tasks and assignments are complex in nature and very broad in objectives with integration of diverse function. Tasks involve independent planning of administrative objectives and priorities relating to the division. Assists the Division Director by serving as division manager and administrative contact for the Antitrust Division. Supervises and manages day-to-day operations in the Antitrust Division. Completes special projects and assignments as directed.
  • Maintains current information regarding departmental policies and programs and processes routine matters within established policies. Ensures that all departmental policies are properly implemented by each bureau.
  • Relieves the Division Director of many administrative duties necessary to the operation of the division, including reviewing and processing all hiring packages for the division; assisting in the supervision of support personnel and workload distribution for the division; reviewing and recommending personnel actions which affect employees; assisting in formulating and recommending programs and policies for the office. Independently review and approve/deny division purchase requisitions, leave request, People First timesheets, badge request, software requests, access to databases, etc.
  • Assists division staff with matters concerning personnel policies, interpreting, and administering policies as directed. Assist Division Director with personnel matters including but not limited to interviews, employee face-to-face managerial counseling and referrals to Human Resources.
  • Maintains statistical information and reports for easy reference to ascertain data for budgetary, legislative, statistical, and administrative purposes. Requires understanding of budget operations and protocols to independently advise the Division Director of everyday and long-term budget operations.
  • Supervises Staff Assistants, OPS clerical staff and non-legal interns.
  • Supervises and manages the time tracking system for the Antitrust Division, assisting employees of the division with the complexities of the system; serves as timekeeper for the division for purposes of correcting errors or making late time entries.
  • Works with Finance and Accounting and representatives of client agencies to correct billing errors. Prepares reports and analyzes data from this system.
  • Manages proceeds from Antitrust settlements including deposit instructions and distribution of settlement funds. Maintains settlement files and documentation for audit purposes.
  • Requires extensive knowledge of the federal and state court systems and with pleadings filed in both court systems, legal issues, Florida statutes, and the organization and functions of the Office of the Attorney General.
  • The above duties may require extended work hours and/or travel outside of the workplace.
