BACKGROUND
This position focuses on overseeing the syndication, publishing, and embedding of content on the NHL’s digital platforms. As the demand for content on the NHL’s digital media continues to grow, this is your opportunity to grow with us in a fast-paced, innovative, and collaborative environment, reaching our fans around the globe. The Sr. Manager, Digital Producer position will work with our Digital Studios and NHL.com Editorial department to quickly and accurately process video and editorial content quickly and accurately to NHL properties, fulfill social media requests on a nightly basis, and assist supervisors.
The ideal candidate is a digital expert who knows all the latest trends, is comfortable working in CMS systems, and is obsessed with analytics and SEO. Not only do they understand Desktop, Mobile, and YouTube, but they also understand the game of hockey, the NHL’s players and teams, statistics, and history around the game while maintaining a brand voice.
Lastly, this candidate has their finger on the pulse of the NHL and spends their free time immersing themselves in podcasts, message boards, or consuming short and long-form content about the NHL.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ability to work in multiple Content Management Systems (CMS), including YouTube
- Proven track record in improving the quality and quantity of website traffic to a website or a web page from search engines using industry-standard SEO practices
- Management and upkeep of presence in Google OneBox
- Must have HTML experience
- YouTube publishing and programming
- Process video and editorial content for publication on NHL properties
- Navigate multiple in-house systems to retrieve and distribute video and editorial content
- Fill social media content requests from teams, affiliates, and partners
- Manage team push notifications
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience publishing and editing video content for digital platforms, particularly YouTube
- Expertise in creating diverse video formats, from linear programming to digital storytelling.
- Outstanding editorial judgment and creative abilities
- Ability to think outside the box, innovate, and lead the team through testing and learning
- Superior leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Desire to work in a fast pace, 24/7 sports environment
- Track record of success in experimental environments
- Must be able to work holidays, weekends, overnights, and extended hours as part of the larger digital video news team as deadlines require
- Travel may be required

SALARY RANGE:
$88-95K
Actual base pay for a successful candidate will be determined based on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to: experience/training, market demands, and geographic location.
