The salary for this position is $122,000 – $150,000 dependent on job-related, non-discriminatory factors such as experience, education, and skills. This range is based on a full-time schedule.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Reporting to the Director of Engine Repair and Overhaul, leadership of all Technical Operations activities for a specific Engine Overhaul and Repair Fleet, ensuring the highest levels of safety, operational performance and regulatory compliance while maintaining a strong focus on product and process improvement, cost control, productivity and team building
  • Support the Director to plan and actively handle both long range and day to day operations within the Engine Overhaul and Repair department
  • Works closely with direct reports and labor to insure optimal efficiency and a Working Together culture
  • Execution of departmental strategy and business plan through direct leadership of base personnel
  • Responsible for budgetary compliance and cost control within product line
  • Provide leadership and direction to Base organization including labor workforce to enhance productivity and output in accordance with collective bargaining agreements while ensuring necessary resources are available
  • Build / reinforce a fair and respectful work environment through consistent application of CBA work rules and company policies
  • Complete Base performance goals and objectives aligning with divisional and company goals
  • Maintain a high level of awareness of operational, financial, compliance, safety and human resource related performance objectives
  • Ensure safety and security of aircraft / components / engines and operations
  • Work with regulatory authorities
  • Ensure regulatory compliance or technical operations activities on local basis
  • Participate in the development and performing the tactical plans to implement Base strategy
  • Maintain a high level of communication with all levels and employee groups within Base
  • Report status of operations, highlighting significant events, while providing direction to assigned product line to ensure divisional objectives are achieved
  • Identify key issues needing to be addressed and assign projects where applicable
  • Meets or exceeds operational performance goals including minimum spare levels, cycle time, and productivity and safety objectives
  • Meets or exceeds business plan objectives
  • Identifies the need for change and / or improvement and implements the same involving the appropriate people and level of resources as needed
  • Builds and maintains professional and productive work environment for labor groups and management teams
  • Effectively communicates with employees of all levels aligning the team for success

What’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):

  • BS / BA in Aviation Management, Engineering or related field or 4 years comparable experience
  • 8 years’ experience in the aircraft maintenance industry
  • Extensive knowledge of aircraft maintenance operations or repair, Continuous Improvement (Lean) and applicable FAA regulations
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
  • Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
  • Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position
  • 3 years in a leadership role within a large maintenance organization including a unionized labor workforce

What will help you propel from the pack (Preferred Qualifications):

  • FAA A&P Certificate
  • Strong background and technical knowledge of engine types and maintenance programs
