Ethicon, a Johnson & Johnson MedTech (JJMT) Company, is currently recruiting for a Senior Manager, Global Franchise Communications, preferably based in Cincinnati, Ohio. Consideration will be given to candidates based in Raritan, New Jersey or Santa Clara, CA.

This role supports the global Ethicon business with a focus on strategic franchise communications and platform growth. This includes building a deep understanding of the business, market opportunities and specialty areas to inform the development and implementation of integrated strategic communications plans in support of business objectives. This role will also help lead communications related to our global Ethicon franchise strategy, executive thought leadership and critical business enablers such as diversity, equity and inclusion, and our global franchise social impact.
This role will serve as a valued comms leader and counselor to the worldwide business leaders and their respective commercial and North America regional teams. You will work in close collaboration with functional colleagues around the world including, JJMT global communications and public affairs (CPA), Sales, Marketing, R&D, Supply Chain, Human Resources, Legal, Regulatory, Compliance, Finance, Corporate Media, Investor Relations, and more.
This individual must be comfortable working in dynamic, fast-paced environments with multiple internal and external stakeholders to consider. A successful candidate will also demonstrate strong executive presence and the ability to thoughtfully advise top executives and comfortably providing alternative points of view. The position will independently lead project teams of agency professionals on both an ongoing and as needed basis.
Responsibilities
- Lead communications related to our global Ethicon franchise strategy and critical business enablers such as diversity, equity and inclusion, and our global franchise social impact.
- Support the development global external strategies and tactics aligned to Franchise priorities and integrated into regional / priority country plans
- Serve as a day-to-day communications counselor and Ethicon CPA liaison for Franchise Strategy team. Implements strategy aligned to business objectives and measures progress and impact.
- Increase positive share of voice and enhance reputation with key stakeholders on behalf of platform through execution of integrated strategic communications plan, including:
- Lead engagement plan and thought leadership opportunities and platforms (i.e. LinkedIn, Industry Meetings, Social Impact, Community and Giving Events).
- Act as media spokesperson on behalf of business, as required, and prepare official company statements and spokespeople for media interviews.
- Identify and develop narratives to engage and inspire cross-functional teams & liaise with enterprise partners to amplify
- Surround-sound global communications to internal and external stakeholders to ensure understanding of our franchise strategy and key business priorities.
- In conjunction with Ethicon CPA and global marketing, elevate patient stories and storytelling opportunities to bring platform narrative and product launches to life.
- Drive consumer and professional educational campaigns around disease states or new product features or enhancements, as required, in partnership with global and regional marketing.
- Drive employee alignment, engagement, and inspiration through initiatives including partnering with Employee Engagement Leader to develop and contribute platform voice to internal communication initiatives to achieve business objectives.
Qualifications
Education:
Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree is required, preferably in communications, public affairs, marketing, or closely related field.
Skills & Experience:
Required:
- Minimum of 10+ years of experience in communications is required.
- Experience managing global communications efforts is required.
- Ability to measure business impact for public relations programs is required.
- Ability to manage agency partners and oversee budget is required.
- Experience managing multiple priorities in fast-paced, matrixed environment is required.
- Experience with both external, commercially-driven communications (i.e. media relations, product communications, branding) is required.
- Experience working within a healthcare, pharmaceutical, medical device, consumer, academia, or closely related field is required.
Preferred:
• Experience in the MedTech Industry
• Current or previous experience working in highly-regulated environment and a demonstrated understanding of regional health authorities is preferred.
• Current or previous experience in healthcare is preferred.
• Experience with internal communications (i.e. employee engagement, executive communications) is preferred.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is $113,000 to $195,500.
The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/ performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company’s discretion on an individual basis.
