Responsibilities
Acts at the highest level as the true end-to-end technology interlock between the client and the company on large, complex projects. Works closely together with the customer to build a technology partnership, to ensure that offered technical solutions support the client’s strategic, long-term plans and vision. Takes ownership of the systems development strategy and solution delivered by the company at an account level. Develops and delivers presentations on technical solutions to client and technical team, as well as captures and communicates client-specific best practices and lessons-learned using the company knowledge management tools and professional relationships. Leading other subject matter experts of the systems development team for specific customers, evaluates design and architecture issues, as well as increases integration of services delivered, and researches current market technologies to design cost-effective solutions that meet current and foreseeable customer requirements. Has broad technical expertise across complex software and hardware systems, telephony methods and devices. Recognized as an in-house industry expert. Represents the company at industry conferences, presents technical white papers. Employees assigned to this job are expert level individual contributors, with leadership responsibilities for others’ work.
The Modular Data Center Architect will be responsible for the following but not limited to:
- Conducting engineering surveys at installation sites to define project requirements
- Creating data center design and bid specifications specific to project requirements
- Create engineered solution designs using approved products and services
- Manage projects during installation, implementation, and commissioning
- Conduct post-installation technical review to ensure end user satisfaction
- Maintain a high-level of industry knowledge on critical power, cooling, DCIM and modular architecture trends
Primary place of duty is Chantilly, VA with occassional travel to Palau.
Qualifications
BS 12-15, MS 10-13. Phd 10+
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or technical field
- In depth knowledge of data center physical infrastructure including power distribution, precision cooling, and DCIM technology
- 8+ years of experience in engineering/architectural design
Desired qualifications:
- Certified Data Centre Design Professional (CDCDP®)
- Project Management Professional (PMP)
- Building Industry Consulting Service International (BICSI) Data Center Design Consultant (DCDC)

Target Salary Range
$112,000 – $179,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
