Position: Senior Manager I, Advanced Analytics
Job Location: 850 Cherry Avenue, San Bruno, CA 94066
Duties: Develop and implement data management policies and processes to govern Walmart Connect data shared internally and externally with third party vendors including current state data controls assessment, data governance control requirements and standards, data stewardship set up, communications, training, and on-going program management. Lead the development of core data governance platform related operational processes and technical controls for data auditing, data integration, data quality, metadata, and data protection to support Walmart’s corporate data governance and privacy policies and standards, and external regulatory requirements. Design, implement, and support metadata management (data catalogs) tools to collect and centralize the knowledge of Walmart’s critical data sets, data journeys, and transformations from system of entry to system of reporting using various interconnecting systems architecture, data models, data dictionaries, and reporting tools. Interpret business requirements into technical control requirements for collection, analysis, access, usage, storage, and transformation of large datasets by leveraging data models and data architectures to establish the linking of data to business processes. Support data analytics and data science teams by designing and implementing computer-based applications to test, monitor, report, and improve data quality, identify data issues, and develop solutions to resolve them. Analyze technical privacy issues and data leakage issues, such as online tracking, consents, anonymization and encryption, data sharing issues, and information security issues. Support audits and review access to data, assess CCPA/CPRA controls, and write data protection policies. This position does not supervise employees.
Minimum education and experience required: Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent in Business, Finance, Accounting, Statistics, Engineering (any), or related field and 3 years of experience in data analytics or related field; OR Master’s degree or the equivalent in Business, Finance, Accounting, Statistics, Engineering (any), or related field and 1 year of experience in data analytics or related field.
Skills required: Experience developing and managing data governance programs. Experience with data classification, data privacy, security and access audits, metadata and data quality management, and data ownership and stewardship across data ecosystems. Experience defining data quality standards and measurement programs using data profiling, data cleansing, data quality rules engines. Experience with reporting and issue management tools, including IBM Infosphere, Collibra, Talend, SQL, and ETL. Experience with data pipeline tools, datastores, databases, and datasets. Experience defining and implementing Metadata Management solutions using IBM Infosphere, Collibra, Talend, and Alation to build data lineages, business glossaries, and data catalogs. Experience assessing data protection controls. Experience with technical privacy issues, including data leakage, online tracking, anonymization, and encryption techniques. Experience with identity and access management controls using tools including OneTrust, BigID, SailPoint, Symantec, and Web and Cloud Security solutions. Experience leveraging data architecture and data and infrastructure models to understand complex data landscapes and interconnections. Experience analyzing large datasets across data warehouses, data marts, and data lakes. Experience applying data integration and analysis techniques using SQL, Tableau, databases, and cloud-based storage services. Experience with data management and governance consulting. Experience with project management and building stakeholder relationships across disciplines. Experience documenting business and technical requirement specifications for data analytics and data protection systems. Employer will accept any amount of experience with the required skills.
Salary Range: The annual salary range for this full-time position is $128,000/year to $192,000/year. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance incentives. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include: Regional Pay Zone (RPZ) (based on location) and Stock equity incentives
