As a Sr. Product Design Manager II at Sam’s Club, you will provide expertise in highly strategic and important initiatives within your owned track. As a track leader, you’ll be responsible for fostering deep empathy with the member, liaising across your product partners to gain alignment and priorities, and maintaining a high-level of creative execution to deliver experiences that bring delight to our users.
Delivering those experiences requires strong Agile ways of working and generates many different products like web apps, in-club experiences, or associate-facing tools. Regardless of the experience though, it is always an opportunity to deliver impact at scale!
As a Sr. Product Design Manager within the Merchandising UX team, you’ll be responsible for helping to create Zero to One level product within a revolutionary space. You’ll be partnering with product peers, UX leadership peers, and your UX manager to craft a mission and vision for the space, implement a strategy to achieve your goals, and building a team to implement change.
What you’ll do:
- Partner with your business, consumer, and product peers to create roadmaps and drive prioritization alignment.
- Interview and empathize with users/members to understand how your products are performing.
- “Walk a mile” in the shoes of your users to better understand their daily experiences and pain points.
- Lead Design Thinking activities and enabling collaborative thinking across your peers.
- Remove barriers for your team’s workstreams and products.
- Drive experience strategy and innovation through oversight of the creation of business, consumer, and associate product experiences.
- Think holistically and systematically – about the people using our products, a cohesive design system, and end to end experiences.
- Solve complex problems by formulating project needs and measures of success.
- Lead a dynamic design team to support the growing demands of the operation, developing extraordinary talent by coaching, managing, and mentoring a team of designers.
- Travel to other Sam’s Club offices to foster collaboration (20% travel).

- Multi-channel user experience strategy and innovation with successful delivery of product roadmaps.
- Understand how to gain strategic alignment within and across the organization, at all levels.
- Identify the need for analysis of customer behavior changes (e.g., spikes in sales revenues, traffic, abandonment, engagement).
- Ability to lead strong teams through rapidly evolving, complex demands, including multiple projects with dependencies on other internal teams.
- Prototyping and designing are a breeze within Figma (but you might also be handy with Flinto, Framer, Marvel, Principle or similar).

The annual salary range for this position is $126,000.00-$216,000.00
Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance incentives.
Additional compensation for certain positions may also include:
– Regional Pay Zone (RPZ) (based on location)
– Stock equity incentives
Minimum Qualifications…

Option 1: Bachelor’s degree in UI/UX design, graphic design, visual communication, product design, computer science, information technology, or related area and 5 years’ experience in UI/UX, interactive and visual design, electronics art, multimedia design, or related area. Option 2: 7 years’ experience in UI/UX, interactive and visual design, electronics art, multimedia design, or related area.
2 years’ supervisory experience.
