WORK STYLE DESIGNATION: Hybrid (+50% Onsite)

WORK STYLE REQUIREMENT: Onsite – 80%/Remote – 20%

WORK LOCATION: Boise, ID

EXPECTED SALARY RANGE: $132,053.00 – $181,573.00

This pay range is for the position’s base salary only. This position may be eligible for other compensation including incentive pay and/or allowances. Candidates will receive additional information during the interview and selection process.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Senior Manager position is located in Boise, ID and supports the business objectives of HTA’s Semiconductor Equipment Division (SED) related to sales of Reactive Ion Etch (RIE or Plasma Etch) equipment to the semiconductor industry. The Senior Manager, Key Account, will engage the customer, global stakeholders at Hitachi High-Tech (in both Kasado and Tokyo), as well as intra-HTA departments to ensure effective management of the key accounts and various associated programs.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • The primary responsibility for this position includes managing SED’s key accounts in all aspects of the business. This includes, but not limited to, overseeing internal and external projects, developing new business opportunities, planning budget proposals for revenue and profit, as well as strategies to achieve those plans from all aspects of the business. This position may be technically oriented or commercially oriented or a combination of both.
  • Expected to engage and understand a broad range activities across various departments in the Business Development Group such as the Process Engineering teams, R&D teams, and Evaluation Support teams to deliver solutions that meet or exceed customer requirements for current and future technology semiconductor manufacturing processes.
  • Oversees Account Managers and other respective managers for various projects to support the account activities such as new product development and proposals, customer taskforces, and internal projects.
  • Directly involved in developing new business opportunities associated with the key accounts including collaborating with potential external partners to develop new technology, products, and value to HTA’s customers.
  • Provides input into R&D, product development, process development and demonstrations, commercial elements, production and service capabilities.
  • Develop plans and budgets for additional internal personnel and capital resources to support the account activities and designing and/or driving the organization and infrastructure to execute the plan.
  • Plans budget proposals for revenue and profit regarding the business with the key accounts. This includes targeting layers to gain, product and technology releases, customer roadmap for
  • technology development and HVM, and developing strategies to achieve those plans in all aspects of the business processes.
  • For a technology focused Senior Manager tasks include: Manage staff and projects associated with current installation base, in order to improve performance at the customer, as well as new product introductions and beta hardware installations. An expert level of hardware and software knowledge of Hitachi’s tools and products is required and the Sr. Manager must be able to engage with the customer, internal HTA teams, and factory in order to create SEED packages, CIP plans, data acquisition and analysis, recommendations to the Director for budget and resources, reporting, and negotiating with the customer.
  • In addition, the technology focused Senior Manager manages ECN’s, CIP’s and EOL implementation. Aligns with the customer on technical options and drives projects to completion. Manages daily task force items as it relates to all products with the customers organization or other key accounts.
  • For a commercially focused Senior Manager tasks include: Manage staff and projects associated with current installation base in order to improve performance within the HVM factories. An expert level of hardware and software knowledge of Hitachi’s tools and products is required and the Sr. Manager must be able to engage with the customer, internal HTA teams, and factory in order to manage and implement ECN changes, CIP plans, data acquisition and analysis, recommendations to the Director for budget and resources, reporting, and negotiating with the customer.
  • In addition, the commercially focused Senior Manager manages Safety and Compliance issues, Quality issues, performance specifications, capital and conversion kit pricing, ECN and RUNDA tracking, worldwide VF support programs, as well as manage the operations of our Dallas Demo Lab team and facility.
  • Supports Director or Sr Director in regards to demos and other business development activities. Acts as a single point of contact accountable for resolving customer issues. Will interface with Hitachi’s global account teams in Tokyo and in Kasado, Japan.
  • Utilizes knowledge of the company’s solutions, products, and services to provide informed decisions and drive results. Works cross functionally across the company to understand roadmaps, process requirements, and business challenges.
  • Ability to work within a matrix environment. Acts as a resource across the company creating impact and providing direction and coordination with key stakeholders throughout the company’s global organization.
  • Professionally represents the company to the customer; able to create internal and external documentation for projects and products, including presentations, technical reports, and process engineering specifications. Must be able to effectively present internally, to the customer, and interact with executive level staff at the key customer sites.

EDUCATION, LICENSES, AND/OR CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

  • BS, MS, or PhD Degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field.

EXPERIENCE AND TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

  • PhD with 8+ years of relevant work experience; or MS with 12+ years of relevant work experience; or BS with 15+ years of relevant work experience. Plasma Etch Process Experience and/or semiconductor processing preferred.
  • Possible travel to Japan for training or customer sites worldwide as needed. The employee must be willing to travel to Japan for specific meetings and/or projects as necessary.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIREMENTS

  • Advanced understanding and experience with dry etch/RIE and plasma science.
  • Familiarity with a variety of metrology and characterization methods used in the semiconductor industry.
  • Strong engineering analytical/problem solving skills. Understanding of Scientific Method and experience using it.
  • Strong organization skills and demonstrated ability to manage shifting priorities to meet business needs and deadlines. Demonstrated project planning, execution, and leadership skills with on-time delivery of milestones.
  • Demonstrated strong work ethic and self-motivated with the ability to focus on both accuracy and output in a complex and matrix work environment. Tolerance of ambiguity and flexibility to adapt to new situations. Be dependable and independent, as well as work within a team and support each other.
  • Excellent teamwork and both verbal and written communication skills are required. Must possess the ability to interact and communicate effectively and professionally with internal and external customers and other stakeholders. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with management team and other employees.
  • Maintains an attitude of “Safety First!” and proactively protects IP/confidentiality. Ability to adapt to new procedures concerning work in the facility. May create and maintain technical and/or procedural documentation.
  • Ability to work overtime, shift work, and/or flexible schedule as needed.
