Amazon is looking for an experienced and motivated senior manager who possesses a unique balance of strong interpersonal, people management, team building, and stakeholder management skills to lead a team of Program Managers, Technical Program Managers, and Product Managers responsible for software delivery for Amazon Legal.
This is a key position in the Legal Technology team. The scope of the role encompasses Amazon Legal’s key software tools which in turn are used by and impact the entirety of Amazon’s global business. The solutions include systems which are used to manage litigation, regulatory, compliance, contracting, approval processes, budgeting, and legal business operations. A large and complex portfolio with an outsized impact on the company.
This person will own the collective software roadmap for Amazon Legal globally and will define the criteria by which success is measured. The ideal candidate will be able to partner closely with software development leaders to deliver tools and services that significantly improve the state of the art for Amazon’s legal department and the business teams they support. As a leader of leaders, they will also be able to hire and develop a strong team that will be highly effective at translating customer needs into delivered features and functionality that not only help people get their work done but they love to use.
This manager must be a self-starter, possessing the ability to manage multiple complex programs simultaneously as well as being able to influence, negotiate, and develop relationships with customers and key stakeholders at all levels of the organization. The ideal candidate is a creative leader with superior analytical abilities and judgment who can set clear goals and direction for their team that meet department program and roadmap objectives while being a vocal advocate for their customer.
Key job responsibilities
– Directly manage a team of technical program managers and product managers engaged in multiple full lifecycle software projects.
– Work closely with engineering and operations teams to incorporate customer feedback and address key support and usability concerns for customers.
– Collaborate with senior leadership on project intake, prioritization, overall program management, owning the Legal technology software roadmap, and providing status on it.
– Effectively define and analyze metrics to drive team behavior in pursuit of goals and program objectives
– Work effectively in a cross-functional environment with legal, technical, senior management teams and customers of Legal in the business.
– Partner with senior leadership to help define the future of legal software and translate the shared vision into multi-year plans.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
– 10+ years of product or program management, product marketing, business development or technology experience
– 6+ years of team management experience
– Bachelor’s degree
– Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product
– Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition
– Experience with end to end product delivery
– Experience contributing to engineering discussions around technology decisions and strategy related to a product
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
– Experience delivering consumer software products and services in a high growth environment
– Expertise in agile software engineering practices & best practices for the full software development life cycle, including agile estimation and planning.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $158,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $307,900/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
