Vice President, North America Head of Media Relation
The External Communications Professional Senior Manager will support North America Media Relations by providing support in media relations, under the direction of the Vice President, North America Head of Media Relations. This colleague will serve in a generalist capacity, gaining hands-on experience in external communications and collaborating with colleagues who oversee social media, internal, marketing, events and digital.

Key Responsibilities:
- Provides support in developing and executing comprehensive/innovative media relations programs including:
- Provide media strategy thinking and execution as he/she partners with VP, North America Head of Media Relations to develop story and pitch angles with top-tier, trade and vertical media.
- Demonstrate strong writing and copy-editing skills.
- Compose press releases, briefing documents, infographic outlines, talking points, media pitches, memos, bylines, blog stories and intranet content.
- Exhibit skills and proficiency with PowerPoint design and layout.
- Review, edit and schedule content for Chubb NA’s Risk Conversations blog, which amplifies expertise from across Chubb’s personal and commercial lines.
- Conduct research to support a variety of external communication campaigns, presentations and thought leadership initiatives (e.g., editorial calendars, third party industry research, media coverage tracking, competitive intelligence research, messaging development, online key influencer identification, etc.)
- Serve as project manager for various communication programs, including campaigns, product announcements, thought leadership, reports and studies, along with ensuring all program deadlines are met with the right level of guidance and support.
- Develop agendas and collaborate on team marketing/comms internal meetings with key business stakeholders.
- Maintain and manage Chubb North America Newsroom, via web content management system; regularly identifying opportunities to strengthen effectiveness of newsroom; reporting monthly on web sessions and actions taken while in the newsroom.
- Develop/maintain a range of external communication databases, used for internal and external purposes; provide marketing officers with regular updates on media coverage related to their business, as well as award opportunities.
- Monitor and track media coverage and award submissions.
- Ensure all external comms materials are reviewed and approved by the appropriate parties, including legal/compliance, subject matter expert, managers and marketing leadership.
- Manage the weekly intake of NA speaking engagement opportunities, including partnering with legal, marketing and Chubb LOB executives for review and approval.
- Maintain benchmark and performance metrics to track communication effectiveness.
Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements:

- Four-year undergraduate or advanced degree, preferably with a major or concentration in Journalism, Communications, English, History or related liberal arts degree.
- Prior insurance or financial services in-house or agency experience – 7 years or more.
- Analytical thinker who can craft clear messages and storylines from complex issues.
- Strong oral and written communication skills and knowledge of AP Style.
- Proficiency with core media measurement, monitoring and targeting tools.
- Flexible, creative and collaborative; demonstrates accountability and is results oriented.
- Proactive and solution-driven work ethic.
- Strong collaboration skills.
- Knowledge of integrated communications welcomed for the position.
- Extensive experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook, as well as Factiva, PR Newswire and Meltwater.
- Based in NYC is a requirement for this role.
- Open to working a hybrid work schedule with three days in the office and two days from home.

The pay range for the role is $92,500 to $158,000. The specific offer will depend on an applicant’s skills and other factors. This role may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program.
