Amazon is seeking experienced professional to join our Ocean and Air Product team to lead Pricing and Promotion Products. Pricing is the key lever in our product strategy and success of the product is dependent on an effective pricing strategy.
Qualified candidates will bring their product and pricing subject-matter expertise to drive growth from pricing & related initiatives. The right candidate will thrive in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment with interactions across a wide variety of e-commerce & logistics topics and stakeholders, including Demand, Product, Operations, and Sales. As a Senior Manager, you will build the strategy for Pricing and Promotion to feed sales & supply planning decisions. You will collaborate with our Transport Product, Finance, Data Science, Sales, and Business Intelligence teams own key business decisions related to Pricing and Promotions.
You will manage a team of direct reports, continuously improving the existing pricing process and mechanisms, identifying competitors, building analytical models, size opportunities, prioritize for ROI, implement techniques to process large data sets, apply statistical testing methods, address quantitative problems, and build reporting that enables leaders to better understand their pricing and demand trends.
As an experienced product and pricing expert, you will be responsible for ensuring sharp pricing. You will deep dive customer, industry and competitive intelligence for pricing and promotion decisions. You will partner with Transport Product, Operations and Procurement teams to maintain supply-demand balance to support the aggressive year over year business growth. You will be comfortable interfacing with various functional teams, have a passion for data analysis, financial modeling, and strategy in an ambiguous problem space, and be willing to roll up your sleeves to build a pricing program that will significantly impact our customers. You will be highly analytical, resourceful, customer-focused and will have an ability to work independently under time constraints to meet deadlines.
You will own and drive pricing & analytics related products and features, pricing model innovation, and alignment globally, including designing and implementing success metrics, measurement systems that guide capacity management decisions.
You will have an opportunity to publish findings, updates, and data driven recommendations to Senior Leadership.
You will:
– Be the single threaded owner for development and execution of Pricing Strategy for Amazon Global Logistics (AGL) freight products
– Take high judgement decisions balancing demand and supply to generate sharp pricing recommendations
– Own the long-range roadmap for pricing tools
– Create intake and prioritization process to balance fast-turnaround business needs, with regular processes and longer time frame strategic projects
– Analyze and validate data to ensure high data quality and reliable insights Implements standard work across teams to drive efficient and high quality execution and delivery
– Optimize existing processes and developing new scalable/repeatable processes and best practices
– Gain support for your strategy and road-map from stakeholders by writing narratives and influencing peers and senior leadership to facilitate decision-making
– Take accountability while providing status, asking for help and immediately escalating issues and problems as necessary
Key job responsibilities
– Own end-to-end for on-going price-setting business, analysis and decision-making process.
– Own regular monitoring and reporting of Pricing performance at regional and product level.
– Transform customer insights into pricing decisions (e. g. price differentiation, price tiering, price segmentation) that increases and diversifies the pricing options offered by AGL Partner with Product, Tech, Marketing, Ops, and Sales teams across EU, China and the US to drive Pricing initiatives impact.
– Partner with Transport Product teams to take decisions on investment of cost saving for price competitiveness.
– Partner with Finance & Financial Automation teams to factor accurate and most up to date cost information for pricing decisions.
– Partner with Procurement and Legal to ensure prices are in line with all regional and local tax and legal guidelines.
– Develop, research, and analyze pricing strategies; test and evaluate current and proposed pricing strategies Identify drivers of business problems as they related to pricing decisions, attaining target margins, and cost savings from operational efficiencies.
– Identify trends at their root, while also stepping back to understand the broader context.
– Define the business problem and solution approach autonomously, to size and prioritize pricing-led business growth opportunities for maximizing return on investments.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
– 12+ years of product or program management, product marketing, business development or technology experience
– Bachelor’s degree
– Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition
– Experience with end to end product delivery
– Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product
– 5+ years of management experience
– 3+ years of pricing and revenue management experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
– Experience engaging and influencing senior executives

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $142,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $265,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
