The Senior Manager of Executive Communications advances BJC’s brand and objectives by leading the development of concise and impactful internal and external communications that reflect our brand, values and the distinctive voice of executive leadership. A member of the BJC Marketing & Communications team, the person in this role is responsible for strategy development, along with organizing, coordinating and executing multi-channel communications and activities on behalf of the BJC executive leadership team. Areas of significant work include presentation development, speechwriting and messaging.

Candidate must live in Missouri/Illinois metro area – this is a hybrid position.

Preferred Qualifications

Role Purpose

This role sets the strategy and development of the BJC HealthCare executive communications program to elevate presence internally and externally. Builds strong relationships with and serves as a trusted advisor to members of the BJC Executive Leaders team, providing consultation and guidance as we advance their visibility and promote them as industry thought leaders externally, and engaging, caring and credible leaders internally.

Responsibilities

  • Manages individual(s) including but not limited to: hires, trains, assigns work, manages and evaluates performance, conducts professional development plans. Ensures that the productivity and actions of that group meet/support the overall operational goals of the department as established by department leadership.
  • Develops and adheres to departmental staffing, revenue and/or expense budgets. Responds to changes in the business which may affect the ability to achieve the budget goals.
  • Sets the strategy for executive communications across BJC, including the development of a compelling narrative to be delivered by BJC’s leadership team in the form of speeches, presentations, social media posts, white papers, blogs, op-eds, or scripts – in essence, whatever the message requires.
  • Writes crisp and captivating content for both internal and external audiences.
  • Contributes to BJC’s thought leadership program, positioning our leaders to offer a unique and credible perspective on topics relevant to our consumers using traditional and social media.
  • Works with Media Relations leadership, digital marketing leadership and other MarComm leaders to develop and facilitate external components of the executive leadership communication strategy
