Description:We are Lockheed Martin
The F-35 is designed with the entire battlespace in mind, bringing new flexibility and capability to the United States and its allies. Reliance on any single capability – electronic attack, stealth, etc. – is not sufficient for success and survivability in the future. Missions traditionally performed by specialized aircraft – air-to-air combat, air-to-ground strikes, electronic attack, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance – can now be executed by a squadron of F-35s.
The F-35 is the first tactical aircraft system to have sustainment tools designed in concert with the air vehicle to optimize operations. This focus on sustainment, together with economies of scale realized from a global supply chain for more than 3,000 aircraft, will help control the costs associated with maintaining a fleet of 5th Generation fighters.
In this role you will be integral to the success of a system-of-systems approach to fleet management that connects maintenance, supply chain and sustainment information into a single management tool to support all F-35 operations.
The selected candidate for the Data Scientist Product Development Associate Manager – Level 4 will assist in the Managing and leading of the Capability Development and Product Development (PD) team within the F-35 Sustainment organization. Provide leadership, direction, and guidance for sustainment activities to include but not limited to:
1) descriptive, comparative, predictive and prescriptive data analyses
2) construct and run models & simulations,
3) conduct supportability assessments
4) document verification & validation efforts under the annualized sustainment and follow-on development contracts
The selected candidate will manage PD team efforts using EVMS, applicable Command Media, and Systems Engineering principles within allocated budget and schedule. Provide technical and analytical support, recommendations, and consultation to the wider Performance & Decision Analytics and F-35 Sustainment leadership teams. Manage organizational interfaces between partner companies and other F-35 product teams. Provide supervision to meet schedules and to resolve critical/complex technical & operational problems through subordinate leads. Supervisory tasks include staffing and promotion decisions, labor charging review and approval, training coordination, facilities coordination, and management of personnel task assignments.
The candidate will operate in a virtual and dynamic environment with cross-functional teams where he/she will have to manage competing priorities to help deliver solutions to complex data problems.
