WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?

The Senior Manager Risk Program Mgmt for MPAD is a key position thats works with business units across Marketing, Product, and Digital Channels (MPAD) to support the execution, operation and ongoing maintenance of the division’s Risk & Compliance &program. This role will be instrumental in promoting risk awareness as well as executing and monitoring the division’s Risk Management program activities and effective communication with all stakeholders and senior management. This positions works with the 1LOD, 2LOD and 3LOD partners to ensure alignment of Risk Management Framework and compliance with Heightened risk management requirements.The Senior Manager provides Leadership through other Managers, Supervisors or individual contributors and is accountable for multiple related departments. Decisions are guided by resource availability and functional objectives. Develops department plans including business, production and or organizational priorities. Provides input to Group Manager on functional or departmental strategy.Accountable for the performance and results of multiple related departmentsExercises full management authority and may delegate actions to Manager. Responsible for hiring, counseling, termination, coaching on performance and development, and pay actions

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

  • Provides project management and initiative leadership and execution for risk management and compliance initiatives across the division’s risk verticals.
  • Oversees risk management and measurement activity in within the division and serves as the division’s liaison with second line of defense teams.
  • Acts as subject matter expert and provides guidance for the activities performed in the division and their associated risk exposures.
  • Serves as the Division Risk Manager for MPAD and represents MPAD on all relevant enterprise wide committees and forums.
  • Participates and provides subject matter expertise in third line of defense audits and regulatory exams.
  • Operates as a point of contact for the division by responding to internal inquires regarding policies, processes, procedures, regulatory requirements, etc.
  • Oversees assessment programs (e.g. Risk Control Self Assessments, Business Impact Assessments, Vendor Risk Assessments, Application Assessments) to identify and quantify the risks and their associated controls in the individual units and division.
  • Establishes standardized processes to test and report on the performance of risk mitigating controls (e.g. if policies and procedures are being followed, if sign off limits are being exceeded etc.).
  • Coordinates the completion of risk mitigating actions and providing status updates of open/closed issues to senior management and second line risk management functions.
  • Provides insight and supporting data to assess scenario impact assessments (e.g. a Business Continuity Assessment, CCAR loss forecasts etc.).
  • Identifies gaps, inconsistencies and other integrity issues in risk management capabilities, and recommend solutions that remediate issues including the challenge of near miss and deep dive activities for significant risk events.
  • Develops actionable risk management tracking tools and dashboards for the division, to include key risk indicators, leveraging existing and developing new as needed; ensures alignment of reports with business unit risk experts.
  • Investigates large or repetitive loss events impacting the division to assess for potential systemic weaknesses and to ensure appropriate corrective action is taken.
  • Performs periodic access reviews to key IT systems for colleagues in the business unit.
  • Ensures appropriate colleagues in division are trained on the applicable risk management practices, reporting, etc.
  • Defines and reports performance metrics and Key Risk Indicators to monitor high risks to the business unit.
  • Responsible and accountable for appropriate quality controls related to the financial products the bank provides, the services the bank delivers, the processes employed and the incentives with which colleagues are awarded.
  • Proactively evaluates and monitors the division’s risk profile and provides reporting and escalation to the SVP of Strategy, Risk and Administration and the MPAD Leadership Team.
  • Stays abreast on specific reporting standards, division reporting requirements and bank system changes/enhancements.
  • Provides thought leadership to the division risk and leadership teams on a variety of topics including emerging risks, trends, and best practices; oversees associated risks.
  • Responsible for promoting risk awareness across the division.
  • Continuously drives improvement and promote the alignment of standard processes, tools and training across all business units.
  • Evaluates and executes on opportunities for increased efficiencies across the risk function.
  • Manages teams made up of high caliber thought leading colleagues who are responsible for Risk and Compliance Management activities across the division.

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

Must-Have*

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent
  • Minimum 10 years of operational experience, with at least 7 years of experience in the financial services sector
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in risk management or compliance in a banking or lending environment
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in a Project Management or leadership role

Compensation

Starting base salary: $127,626 – $237,014 per year. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. This job is eligible for bonus and/or commissions.
