Senior Manager, SAP Services

Position Description

As a Senior Manager of SAP Services, you will be responsible for working within the framework of a team and performing the following activities during specific timeframes:

  • First 30 days
    • Take and complete all company and department-specific SOPs and trainings.
    • Learn about your team structure and the individuals that make it up.
    • Discover and familiarize yourself with the systems we use.
    • Understand and follow the processes we have in place.
    • Join the SAP (Systems, Applications, and Products) S4/HANA (High-Performance Analytic Appliance) project team.
    • Assist with SAP operational and project tasks, as required.
  • Within 60 days
    • Identify gaps in processes and systems.
    • Recommend and implement solutions to remediate identified gaps.
    • Suggest process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
    • Identify growth and training opportunities for the team.
    • Propose and assist with software upgrades as necessary.
    • Continuously engage in SAP project management tasks.
  • After 90 days to 1 year
    • Provide oversight across our SAP environment.
    • Address concerns to ensure the delivery of quality solutions to customers.
    • Maintain an active role in SAP platform governance.
    • Contribute to change management initiatives.
  • Ongoing
    • Manage a team of subject matter experts responsible for the SAP platform and its components.
    • Ensure system availability and optimal performance.
    • Provide technical support for the SAP system.
    • Identify and resolve system issues effectively.

Position Requirements

This position requires the following skills and attributes:

  • More than seven years of technical management and supervisory experience in a dynamic, high-tech systems development environment, including IT Business Analyst and Systems Analyst roles in SAP systems. Equivalent education and experience will be considered.
  • Expert-level knowledge of SAP’s core technical platform, including interface methodologies, workflow, updates process, code optimization, background processes, and innovative techniques.
  • Strong skills in Business Analysis and Systems Analysis, with expertise in Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), particularly in comprehensive Needs Analysis, User Requirements development, and analytical thinking.
  • Proficient in developing process maps, visualizing as-is and to-be processes, and proposing creative solutions to business needs.
  • Demonstrated competency in strategic thinking, leadership, and managing multi-discipline, high-performance work teams and groups, with strong relationship management abilities.
  • Proven experience in strategic planning, project management, and process improvement, including the development of long-range roadmaps and successful execution of multiple large projects using project management methodologies.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills, including working with matrixed and global teams, thriving in fast-paced, changing environments, and identifying and escalating issues, as needed.
  • Strong ability to manage competing work items effectively and delegate when appropriate.
  • Proactive approach to addressing challenges associated with the day-to-day operations of SAP systems.
  • Stays current with industry developments related to the SAP environment.
  • Familiarity with Service Now and SAP application monitoring solutions, such as Solution Manager or AppDynamics.
  • Track record of successfully developing and implementing new technology.
  • Timely response to information requests, including audits.

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.

Benefits

The base compensation range for this role is $130000 – $160000 / year for the position in California. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. The range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries in California based on the date of this job posting.
