Amazon’s Project Kuiper is an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low-latency, high-speed broadband network connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world.

The Kuiper Business Solutions team owns a suite of products and services to operate and scale Kuiper. Our team owns developing the architecture, solutions & roadmap for the products that are critical to operate Kuiper.

We are looking for a Sr. SDM to build and scale Kuiper Field Service Management (FSM). FSM system is a critical component to ensure Kuiper customers can install the Antenna required to access Kuiper Internet. FSM systems own technician hiring, training and onboarding; Territory management; technician scheduling and dispatch; workforce management; and integrating with Kuiper app and website, Customer Service applications to schedule, manage and track CT installations. As the Senior Manager you will own building a strong engineering team and leading them to deliver the FSM product and ensuring that it will delight our customers, stakeholders and partners.

Key job responsibilities
• Aid in the design and delivery of broad range of software Applications and Services .
• Develop the technical strategy to deliver these products at scale globally
• Work with our peer teams and stakeholders to design suitable software systems and interfaces to fulfill the customer needs.
• Develop a strategic plan for the growth of the team, both from a software services and organization perspective.
• Hire & Develop a diverse team of software engineers.
• Collaborate with your fellow team members to form a strong foundation for a software organization in Project Kuiper.
• Help on-board and mentor new team members.

**This role is located in Redmond, WA and candidate will be required to be onsite. No location flexibility.

A day in the life

You will be part of a startup team that will tackle a broad set of greenfield problems and define the suite of products that will help Kuiper operate and scale. You will work with Product Management and Business Stakeholders on defining the roadmap for the suite of products necessary for Kuiper’s operation. You will own solving this for multiple customer segments and building software that is flexible for many different customers and countries.

About the team

The Software and Networking organization is responsible for all of the software, services and infrastructure needed to securely and safely fly each Kuiper satellite, manage Kuiper’s satellite constellation, control Kuiper’s ground infrastructure and deliver highly available network services to our customers around the world.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

– 7+ years of relevant experience in industry and/or academia.

– 7+ years product management and/or business leadership experience within a telecommunications or technology company

– 7+ years of proven track record of delivering results for large, cross-functional initiatives while managing multiple competing priorities

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $176,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $342,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
