Senior Manager, Strategic Planning

We are recruiting for a Senior Manager, Strategic Planning within the Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine Technology organization, the global technology team for Johnson & Johnson’s pharmaceutical business. This is a hybrid role with the preferred location Raritan, NJ. Open to other J&J innovative medicine sites in NJ.

The Senior Manager, Strategic Planning provides a longer-term strategic view and leads the establishment of the strategic planning cadence and process to drive alignment of the highest priorities and cascade to the whole organization. This includes accountability for crafting the annual ‘Game Plan’ and mobilizing teams to ensure alignment of the lowest level Objectives and Key Results to business strategic pillars. Another key component of this role is impactful communications and continuous evolution of what we do and how we do things to achieve strategic and intentional communications that deliver a clear narrative, provide direction, and engage and energize our people. This role will report to Director, Strategy and Innovation Office for the Global Technology organization of J&J’s pharmaceutical business.

Responsibilities:

  • Own the strategic planning process and collaborate with regional and functional teams to build a consolidated strategic plan
  • Implement and lead the process for crafting and maintaining strategic roadmaps and provide leadership team with greater visibility on the highest priority areas
  • Simplify complexity to communicate the impact of technology in a clear and concise narrative and articulate the value generated to senior leaders
  • Lead strategic internal communications to translate strategy into a cohesive narrative to cascade and ignite action across teams; this includes developing a communication plan that is intentional and leverages existing channels and forums and strives to constantly consolidate and streamline what we do to achieve the greatest impact
  • Support the development of the Global Technology strategy in partnership with the Director, Strategy and Innovation Office and senior leadership
  • Act as a thought partner to the leadership team by scanning the external landscape and introducing relevant perspectives to drive business decisions and action
  • Collaborate with regional and functional Technology and business partners to drive cross-sharing and partner on critical initiatives

Qualifications

Required:

  • A minimum of Bachelor’s degree
  • At least 5 years of experience is required with relevant experience in consulting, innovation and technology a huge plus
  • Strong communicator (oral and written) with excellent storytelling abilities
  • Proven ability to seek new opportunities, craft business cases, and bring solutions to life
  • Demonstrated ability to inspire change at different levels of the organization
  • Intellectual curiosity and learning agility
  • Flexibility and desire to shape new solutions

Preferred:

  • Business background
  • Project/ Program management experience
  • Management consulting experience or experience in a Communications role
  • Creative thinking to proactively seek new and innovative ways to do things
  • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills

This position may require up to 10% travel

The anticipated base pay range for this position is $118,000 to $203,550.

The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/ performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company’s discretion on an individual basis.
