Aerojet Rocketdyne is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Process Engineer to join our facility in Canoga Park, CA (Los Angeles area).

Essential Job Functions (Including % of Time for Each)
40% – Provide in-process technical guidance to production assembly and test processes. Disposition discrepant hardware. Resolve hardware constraints.
10% – Provide process technical expertise to support product design reviews and manufacturing/supplier readiness reviews.
10% – Analyze performance drivers, and lead project team(s) to implement processing efficiencies to achieve performance/cost targets, utilizing Lean manufacturing tools.
10% – Define assembly and test process specification requirements. Document lessons learned and best practices into assembly and test standard work instructions and manufacturing planning. Develop and provide technical training to technicians.
10% – Maintaining tooling and work center readiness (calibration, preventative maintenance plans, Foreign Object Elimination).
15% – Utilize process input and output characteristic data (statistical process control, as applicable) to drive process improvement and process control to achieve cost of quality targets.
Requirements
Requires a Bachelor’s degree and five (5) years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience should include demonstrated ability in precision assembly, pressure testing, electrical checkout, and problem solving in manufacturing. The ability to interpret end item drawings and procedures is a must. Experience with Lean Manufacturing principles and statistical process control tools a plus.
May be required to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance at the appropriate level. Must be able to satisfy federal government requirements for access to government information, and having dual citizenship may preclude you from being able to meet this requirement.
Work Environment/Physical Requirements:
The work environment may require a combination of indoor and outdoor activity (hot, cold, wet, humid conditions) with a varied amount of walking, standing, sitting, climbing (i.e. ladders, stair, scaffolding, ramps), balance (maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling when walking, standing, or crouching on narrow, slippery, or erratically moving surfaces), bending, reaching, handling/fingering (seizing, holding, grasping, turning picking, pinching), stooping, kneeling, crouching and ability to lift/carry/push/pull up to 25 pounds. While performing the duties of this job, employees may work around variable noise levels. May require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, safety shoes, and shop coat. May also be required to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer. May require the ability to travel by air or auto. These positions may be expected to work varying shifts and hours to ensure successful operation of activities in the organization.
Pay range for this position:
$83,000 – $113,000
