Overview
Plans, develops, manages, maintains, and audits digital and print marketing strategy and content, in partnership with internal stakeholders. Creates messaging with the purpose of acquiring, retaining, and upselling customers through compelling storytelling. Acts as a subject matter expert on Paychex brand to ensure all content adheres to current brand and editorial guidelines.
Responsibilities
- Hybrid position in the office 2-3 days weekly
- Researches industry trends and competitors to plan, produce, and analyze content that continually ensures strategic and effective marketing communications. Develops campaign and content strategies, tactics, and executions that will position Paychex as the solution to the pain points of specific audiences, channels, and personas.
- Writes, edits, and proofreads digital and print content for media such as websites, articles, video, audio, interactive, social, email, advertising, collateral, presentations, and other marketing materials. Well-versed in best practices and tools required to deliver successful content across these various channels.
- Helps drive the content planning process, establishing and maintaining an editorial calendar for creating and publishing content. Creates content and messaging to meet the strategic goals of stakeholders from marketing and other departments, such as brand awareness, marketing-qualified leads, paid media, customer retention, search engine optimization (SEO), and other success metrics.
- Completes projects in partnership with content managers, product marketing managers, channel marketing managers, customer journey managers, other departments, and both in-house and freelance designers, project managers, illustrators, printers, photographers, and production companies as required.
- Mentors Marketing Content Program Managers to ensure brand tone, message, and style and improve the overall quality and effectiveness of the work.
- Understands the HR, benefits, payroll, and insurance product offerings of Paychex and/or its subsidiaries, their features, and benefits to customers. Understands and helps develop (as required) customer and competitor information to better position Paychex and its solutions.
- Manages, develops, and adapts workflows to complete projects accurately and on time. Assesses performance metrics to improve internal processes and efficiencies, and suggests process improvements to ensure the ongoing effectiveness of the department.
- Establishes and maintains a network of freelance writers, designers, and influencers to support and augment Paychex content marketing efforts.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree – Preferred
- 10+ years of experience in Content management.
- Developing and delivering content strategies with positive measurable results.
- Directing the work of other writers (staff and/or freelance).
- Proven exemplary writer across various media channels.
Compensation
In the spirit of pay transparency, we are excited to share that the starting base pay range for this position is $65,520 – $101,400 annually/hourly. Please keep in mind that this range is the base pay only and does not consider other components that make up the total rewards package for the position. If you are hired at Paychex, your overall compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience which may result in total compensation outside of this range.
