Job Title: Senior Modeler (multiple openings)
Job Location: Riverwoods, Illinois
Job Type: Full Time
Duties: Develop predictive models to provide modeling solutions to Discover business partners. Design and develop models utilizing machine learning and other algorithms. Telecommuting and/or working from home may be permissible pursuant to company policies.
Requirements: Employer will accept a Master’s degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering (any), Economics, Analytics, or related field and 24 months of experience in Research Assistant/Teaching Assistant; Senior Analyst or related occupation. Alternatively, employer will accept a Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering (any), Economics, Analytics, or related field and 48 months of experience in Research Assistant/Teaching Assistant; Senior Analyst or related occupation.
Position required skills: Two (2) years of experience in the job offered or related occupation with a Master’s degree, OR Four (4) years of experience in the job offered or related occupation with a Bachelor’s degree: performing end-to-end model development processes, including project initiation, data preparation, feature engineering, feature selection, model tuning, implementation, ad-hoc analysis, and performance tracking; utilizing SQL query language to define, retrieve and manage data in database, including parsing, munging, wrangling, transforming, analyzing, and sanitizing data; identifying and resolving issues by conducting data reconciliation; utilizing machine learning, statistics, and programming languages, including Python and R; conducting data manipulation, feature engineering and visualization in cloud computing platform to extract knowledge, insights, and make informed decisions from data; designing and developing models utilizing advanced machine learning algorithms, including ensembled decision trees and neural networks to provide modeling solutions to detect abnormal behaviors; and composing production model codes, validating model implementation, and investigating production issues discovered.
Position eligible for incentives under Employee Referral Program.
Rate of Pay: The base pay for this position generally ranges between $128,000.00 to $179,200.00. Additional incentives may be provided as part of a market competitive total compensation package. Factors, such as but not limited to, geographical location, relevant experience, education, and skill level may impact the pay for this position.
