Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or GED; one year of clerical experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Knowledge of standard office practices and procedures. Ability to alphabetize or numerically sort materials; to set up and maintain records and files; to understand and apply policies and procedures; to communicate effectively orally and in writing; to operate a personal computer and related software and other standard office equipment; to develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external customers. Pre-employment drug testing, FBI criminal background check and education/degree verification required.
Duties
Provides assistance to internal and external customers in support of HR functions for the department. Serves as primary timekeeper for the department; assists with onboarding process for employees, submits access and deactivation requests for various software programs, ensures other required documentation is submitted and recorded. Issues approval letters for volunteer coaches. Assists with various audits as related to timekeeping, timesheets, documents sent to county HR for scanning to official record, etc. Assists with scanning of many documents to the Laserfiche system. Assists with correspondence, tracking, and data entry for various items, files and maintains filing and/or record systems. Advises and interprets policies/procedures and researches questions and requests made by citizens and/or staff; assists customers in person or by telephone; performs data entry and general office support to include work orders, departmental action items, timekeeping, tracking, database records/spreadsheets and policies and procedures. Performs other work as required. This position is a part of an approved Career Development Plan (CDP) and offers career progression opportunities and salary incentives, as funding permits, based on performance, qualifications, and experience.
Shift
28 hours/week; shift varies Monday – Friday between 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
