ABOUT THE ROLE
Join our mission-driven B Corp as the Senior Operations Manager for the Commercial team at 3Degrees. This is the perfect opportunity for an experienced professional who has thrived in an operations team within the dynamic world of management consulting and sales. In this role, you will be instrumental in ensuring that our Commercial team operates at peak efficiency, making a substantial impact on our commitment to sustainability and positive change. You will work closely with Commercial team leadership to define and deliver scalable process and technology solutions to support both the Business Partnerships teams, and our Energy and Climate Practice team (ECP), which serves as the consulting arm of 3Degrees. Your expertise in operations will enable you to effectively collaborate across departments, including Finance, Sales, Marketing, Market Intelligence, HR, and more.
This is a full-time position preferably based within commutable distance to our Portland, ME or New York, NY offices. For highly qualified candidates a remote office in the Eastern Time zone, with agreement to travel for training and collaboration, will be considered. Remote workers agree that their home office provides a comfortable and productive environment that enables success in the role as a “remote” employee.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
With a balance of a tactical and a strategic focus, you will manage and improve commercial processes, develop procedures, and manage high-performing team members. Key responsibilities include:
People and Processes:
- Responsible for day-to-day operations needs of the ECP team, including time tracking, timecard management, invoicing, contract management, team meetings, events, billing, time tracking, staffing, budget and modeling support
- Partner with Business Partnerships leadership team to support data requests and process improvements
- Responsible for ensuring execution of training and learning plans for new and existing staff including people, process and technology
- Support definition, design, build and integration of Commercial performance and operational dashboards. Determine, under leadership direction, performance indicators for people, profit and client
- Conduct, as needed, operational assessment, process mapping and process and systems improvement projects for areas of profit, efficiency, people or client delivery and development opportunity
- Responsible for team communications related to people, process, technology and data
Technology and Data Analytics:
- Act as an internal expert for operational reporting and analytics capabilities, utilizing Tableau, Google Sheets, Excel, Salesforce or other data analytics and reporting tools
- Responsible for keeping up to date on operational technologies and opportunities and making recommendations for data, process and systems changes that drive efficiency and opportunity to the business (Salesforce, Mission Control, Groove, Netsuite)
- Create, execute and operate a technology, content and data management strategy
- Establish processes for data entry/integration, analysis, reporting and refinement
- Ensure design and execution of technology rollout occurs smoothly and efficiently
- Responsible for developing reporting and communication processes for operational metrics and dashboards
- Ensure all reports and dashboards are accurate and operationally functional for sales team members
- Track and analyze data on a quarterly basis that will help the team define territory assignments, processes, and workflows, and other strategic and operational decisions
Leadership:
- Oversee management of onboarding and training plans, tool and process development, and team administrative tasks
- Work closely with Commercial leadership on strategic plans and financial analysis
- Drive cross-functional collaboration with product and delivery teams
- Ad-hoc projects as needed, both within and outside of Salesforce
- Maintain cross-departmental communication and collaboration between Commercial and other divisions of the company
- Provide best practices and guidance for Commercial operations team
ABOUT YOU
You are a self-starter who is driven by designing, implementing and operating an efficient, highly effective team. You have a proven track record of supporting and empowering positive margin for business teams responsible for driving revenue. You are an experienced operations professional that can effectively support the growth of sales and consulting related functions including people, profit, clients. The following experiences and skills would demonstrate your ability to be successful in this role:
- 7 years of direct experience in RevOps, Sales Operations/Enablement, and/or a Consulting environment
- Must be an organized self-starter who will make recommendations and manage a team towards effective delivery
- Advanced knowledge of Excel, Tableau, Google Suite, Box, Salesforce, and other commercial tools preferred
- Must be able to think and act both strategically and tactically, and take independent ownership of projects
- Strong organizational, analytical, quantitative and technical skills, with a strong financial background
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills
- Strong project management skills
- Proven ability to lead, coach and collaborate with team members across functions and levels
- Bachelor’s degree or relevant experience
HOW WE DEFINE SUCCESS
Within 30 days,
- Learn Team Dynamics: Familiarize yourself with the ECP team’s structure, roles, and current operational processes
- Tool Proficiency: Master the usage of essential tools including Tableau, Google Sheets, Excel, Salesforce, and internal systems
- Establish Communication Channels: Set up effective communication channels within the team and with key stakeholders for seamless information flow
- Understand Current Challenges: Identify immediate operational challenges and bottlenecks faced by the team and propose initial solutions
Within 90 days,
- Operational Optimization: Implement improvements in operational processes, focusing on efficiency, accuracy, and communication
- Data Analytics Enhancement: Enhance operational reporting and analytics capabilities, refining dashboards and metrics to drive informed decisions
- Team Empowerment: Develop and execute training plans, empowering team members with enhanced skills and knowledge
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with Finance, Marketing, HR, and other departments to streamline cross-functional processes and improve synergy
Within 6 Months,
- Independently Manage Projects: Take ownership of specific projects related to the Senior Operations Manager, demonstrating autonomy and leadership
- Strategic Planning: Contribute significantly to strategic plans, integrating operational goals with broader company objectives
- Process Standardization: Standardize operational processes, ensuring consistency and efficiency across various functions
- Data-Driven Decision Making: Establish a culture of data-driven decision-making, using analytics to guide strategic and operational initiatives
- Stakeholder Satisfaction: Ensure high satisfaction levels among internal and external stakeholders, reflecting operational efficiency and professionalism
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
- Compensation: The starting base pay for this position is $105,000 to $152,000 in the US. The total compensation package for the successful candidate in this role may exceed the base pay as it includes other incentive pay. The base pay is dependent upon many factors such as location, transferable or job-related skills, work experience, relevant training, business needs, and market demands. The base salary range is subject to change and may be modified in the future

- Supplemental Pay: this position is eligible for discretionary bonus programs including the company’s profit sharing program and an annual performance bonus based on personal, department and company goals
