Microsoft Cloud Operations and Innovation team (CO+I) is the team behind Microsoft’s Cloud infrastructure and is responsible for innovating, planning designing, building and operating one of the largest datacenter fleets in the world. We support product teams by providing secure, compliant, cost efficient and highly available global infrastructure that Microsoft’s customers depend on. We are looking for a Senior Operations Program Manager with a track record and passion for operations planning, production control, driving data quality, and implementing process improvements at scale. They will work with a global team on defining yearly goals and strategies to improve delivery predictability and reduce cycle times for the datacenter lease program. They will be responsible for leading process design across business functions and implementing industry leading solutions. They will establish process measures and implement controls to assess process performance and drive optimal outcomes.
The successful candidate will be a self-starter with analytical acumen and attention to detail. They must have the ability to work with diverse stakeholder groups to transform current processes for greater agility, efficiency, and effectiveness. Customer empathy and relentless drive to help customers feel more confident in our cloud services are key attributes for being successful in this role.
Qualifications:
Required/Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business, or related field AND 6+ years process management, process execution, process optimization, or related experience
- OR Master’s Degree in Engineering, Business, or related field AND 4+ years process management, process execution, process optimization, or related experience
- OR equivalent experience.
Other Requirements:
The ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to, the following specialized security screenings:
- Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Engineering, Business, or related field
- Lean, Business Process Management Professional, Change Management (e.g., Prosci), Six Sigma, and/or Agile certifications.
- Ability to interact with both technical & business subject matter experts across multiple organizational levels
- Previous experience with advanced data analytics & statistical modeling a big plus
- Previous experience in datacenter infrastructure delivery a big plus
Process Management IC5 – The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $112,200 – $194,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $142,200 – $213,200 per year.

Responsibilities:
- Drive lease production planning, managing project intake and resource allocation to ensure lease projects are delivered on time against an industry leading lead time
- Drive end-to-end project execution utilizing advanced knowledge of process tools and methodologies (e.g., value stream mapping) in accordance with compliance and controls.
- Manage stakeholder review rhythms to ensure teams are engaged and aligned to drive desired outcomes.
- Consistently measure project performance to understand and mitigate gaps early in the project life cycle
- Uses statistical analyses and root cause assessments to interpret key performance indicators (KPIs) and identify opportunities for process improvements
- Partner with Engineering and Business Intelligence Analytics teams to on tooling & reporting enhancements
- Leads program-level change management using advanced understanding of the business (e.g., readiness, timing, impact on stakeholders, data, tools, systems, policy, return on investment).
