Senior Paralegal – Audience Measurement

This role is an excellent opportunity for a team-oriented communicator with strong follow-through skills and a practical business-oriented approach to problem solving and contract drafting. Our paralegals do much of the first-round drafting and redlining of commercial contracts, with high levels of responsibility and interactions with teams across the organization.

*Hybrid position – applicants need to be willing to work in our New York, New York office 2-3 days per week*

Responsibilities:

    • Work closely with sales, client services, contract administration, paralegals, and lawyers on preparation, drafting and revision of licenses, master services agreements, statements of work, various other agreements, and product/service specifications.
    • Review comments and redlines, seek internal feedback, incorporate redlined changes into documents, and manage document versions.
    • Negotiate contract terms and provide negotiation assistance as needed to lawyers, commercial sales team members, and external clients.
    • Other duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications & Experience:

    • Minimum 7-10 years prior contract drafting experience required.
    • Excellent contract drafting skills, with a strong grasp of contract structure and terminology.
    • Strong work ethic, learns quickly, takes responsibility for assigned matters, can work independently with minimum supervision, takes pride as a contributing team member.
    • Demonstrates great communication skills, with a friendly and professional demeanor, and possesses a high level of discretion and integrity.
    • Able to efficiently prioritize while managing multiple projects simultaneously, ability to reliably provide quick turnaround without compromising quality.
    • Demonstrates strong people skills and ability to work with individuals at all levels and in all areas of the organization, with the ability to adapt quickly to constructive feedback.
    • Exercises good judgment and recognizes when to ask for help or escalate issues.
    • Demonstrates superior organizational skills, attention to detail and strong computer skills (MS Word, Google Suite, netDocs, Excel, and general database interaction).
    • Bachelor’s degree required, Paralegal Certificate preferred.
    • Experience in technology or media industries is a plus.

A reasonable estimate of salary range for a new employee to be offered this role would be between $66,000 – $100,000, which would be adjusted based on each employee’s geographic location. The position of each employee within a compensation range at Nielsen is dependent on several individual circumstances, such as experience, training, certifications, and other business requirements/needs.
